Spacious, well equipped house in a quiet country location with a large garden backing onto farmland. Ten minute drive to the beach; easy access to the New Forest; decent pubs, shops, coffee and cake stop all within a mile's walk (or drive if you want).
As a three generation party of six adults, one baby and a dog, we could not have found a better place for a family get together. The place felt like (an extended) home from home when we arrived. Colin made us feel relaxed and welcome, even allowing us to stay to watch England's 2nd World Cup game on our departure day!
Large brick BBQ encouraged us to eat in on the days the family was with us. Less stressful than eating out with a 5 month old grandson.
Downsides: first person down in the morning needs to throw open the windows, as the downstairs heats up quickly in the sun (not a great hardship) and there is no shade on the patio (but there is a huge oak tree which provides plenty of shade on the grass). Most of the family just loved the sun!
Thanks, Colin, for a family break we enjoyed enormously; pressure now to make this an annual event.
The house was amazing and equipped with everything you could need to keep you going and the fresh bread Colin left was yummy!
The grounds and garden are stunning and everything in such great condition.
It’s so near to lots of great local sites, but secluded too.
Thank you Colin, we’ll definitely visit again.
Great location, near to beach, town and forest. Superb garden, complete with comfortable garden furniture, palm tree, spreading oak tree for photos, trampoline, barbecue, sheep and even llamas in the fields beyond! Loved the sun room, which doubles as an extra dining area. Fantastic place to host friends and family in.
Owner was very helpful, as was the daughter. Blocked loo responded to plunger, so worth knowing where that is kept. Could have done with a little more cutlery, but otherwise everything we needed was supplied, including extra mattresses and a travel cot.
We found Hill Farm to be a wonderful place to relax in, whilst the children could play with the toys and jump on the trampoline to their hearts' content. They also loved picking the blackberries!
We had a wonderful weekend stay at this beautiful property with lots of things to do nearby and lots of places to eat.The owner was very welcoming and helpful.
We got married at nearby Parley Manor & were looking for a house like this for family to stay together over the wedding weekend. Colin, the owner, was really friendly & more than happy for us to have a get together with guests the day after the wedding. Around 40 people came. We had hoped to use the huge garden but it was raining - not to worry though, with the big lounge, kitchen & conservatory there was enough room!! Colin also kindly opened up the next door field to park cars in!!! There wouldnt be very many holiday let options that would be this accommodating!! Thanks Colin! The house is lovely! Highly recommended!!
