They obviously overcharge because it is popular with tourists who are willing to pay. But if you like markets it is worth a visit, lots of sushi for sale and a few small Korean food kiosks.

Lovely place to explore, full of fresh produce. Started our day touring the market with food purchases along the way which kept us full till the afternoon!
Items sold are really fresh and worth every penny spend! Must visit place for the experience and atmosphere! :)
i love the kuromon market because you get to see and buy deliscious food coked right in front of you. I loved the champoy, the squid, fuji apple that was so sweet and the huge and sweet strawberries. there are much more food delicacies to choose from and it is near out hotel sunroute in niponbashi . I even saw the biggest crab in my life.
The Kuromon market offers many a special treat that will be hard to find in any market in Germany, where I live. Hence it is quite the spectacular walk through that can very well be combined with a visit to Osaka castle! There are numerous snack shacks that offer local specialities on the go - many of which will probably be too much for you! A treat that will be particularly special for seafood lovers out there...
Kuromon Market is one of those places where tourists must go at least once to experience being in a fresh and dried food market. There are many beautiful Japanese fruits that you can buy such as strawberries, cherries, peaches, melons, etc. depending on the season. Kuromon Market is after all, a market so it will appeal to those who are interested in fresh or dried food, otherwise you can try out one of the restaurants in there.
This place is a great place for shopping and eat. a lot of shop and restaurant / kiosk for you to shop and eat
