my second time here... as a Hyatt Diamond/Globalist, the first time i was here 2 years ago, i used a suite upgrade, and that was WELL WORTH IT. this time, suites were not available as we visited during the height of Cherry Blossom season.
so we requested a rollaway and had a tight squishy stay, but super scenic and food filled holiday.
the hotel itself is convenient located in Roppongi, with a large US expat tourist clientele. it's attached to a great mall, fantastic food options, Mori Art Museum and Roppongi Station.
as a Globalist, i expected free breakfast and cocktails/snacks (only 2 people are free with new WOH Globalist benefits), but we had to pay for an additional person as there were 3 of us. hard to swallow, but reluctantly accepted.
also very convenient to/from hotel with shuttle bus from airport.

Stayed: April 2017, travelled with friends

Dear songsongblue,

Warm greetings from Grand Hyatt Tokyo.

First and foremost, we would like to thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to provide us with your valuable feedback.

We are delighted to learn that you enjoyed your stay overall and we hope you enjoyed the beautiful cherry blossom season! However, we apologize that an upgrade was not available this stay. In addition to Grand Club access, WOH Globalists receive priority access to available rooms when checking-in early, extended check-out times when available and many other benefits we hope you were able to take advantage of.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us and we are looking forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

Best regards,

We booked a stay at the Grand Hyatt for 4 days during our stay in Japan, and it is definitely one of the best hotel stays we've ever had. We came with our 2 teenage kids and were upgraded to a suite, because they felt it would be a better experience for us with more room, and the suite was amazing. The hotel itself is in the heart of Roppongi Hills, which is a fairly upscale neighborhood, and right next to a shopping mall and shopping district and close to the subway line. The rooms look very modern and beautifully appointed with a full complement of amenities. (I always worry in case I run out of something, but they had everything I needed without having to ask) My husband had dry cleaning done through the hotel and it arrived promptly for my husband's presentation. We were on club level, so there was a lovely buffet breakfast every morning; for our last dinner, we ate at one of the restaurants located on the 6th level, Shunbou, and it was magnificent, multi course haute cuisine. I didn't use the pool or gym, but both my husband and children tried them out and found them more than adequate. The staff, under manager Mr. Abe's direction were always friendy, welcoming and accommodating and we had a very smoothly run, lovely experience. Definitely worth 5 stars, and I'd love to come back.

Excellent location and very helpful staff . Close proximity to subway lines, lots of shopping as well as great restaurants within walking distance. Best of all is close proximity to bars and clubs at night.
