We stayed 5 nights in a double room which was extremely small for western standards. Also the Japanese pillows are rock hard compared to western expectations. The location is perfect, staff friendly and Onsen was an amazing way to unwind after a busy day exploring Osaka. Breakfast was good, not amazing but good enough to set you up well for the day ahead. The pros of this hotel outweigh a few cons and I would recommend this as a good and affordable place to stay in the heart of Osaka.

To our guests

Thank you for staying in Dormy inn PREMIUM Namba.
We are glad to hear that you were satisfied on your stay.
Sorry about the room. Compare to a western type hotel maybe you might feel it smaller.
It is first come first serve basis but we also have some rental pillows in the front desk.
So if you feel any uncomfortable just please tell the front staff.
Hope that you had enjoyed Osaka with us.
We look forward to seeing you again.

It was my first solo trip in Japan and I felt completely safe staying here. The breakfast is a must have. Wide variety of Japanese and Western style foods including tempura, takoyaki and okonomiyaki. The building was next to a construction site but as a light sleeper, I didn't hear anything. The sink was outside of the bathroom, which is a brilliant set up when there are 2 guests or more. There is a sliding door between the bathroom and the bed so you don't hear noises in the hallway. Location was central, about a 8 min walk to train.

We had 2 queen rooms. These are more spacious than the standard 20 sq m rooms that we previously tried in other Dormy Inns. Each level has only 1 queen room, which is at the corner of each building, so don't expect to be on the same floor if you book a few of the Queen room. The standard Dormy Inn amenities were given. Cleanliness of the room was the same high standard as what we experienced before.

The 9:30pm noodles was yummy. The lady cooking on duty on 4-6 Dec was able to cook each bowl to the same consistency.

Breakfast was great! They had a range of items unique to Osaka, like okonomiyaki and takoyaki, in addition to their usual spread of bread, waffles, fried egg, onsen eggs.

As for location, we chose it because it is smack in Dotobori area, and close to a few subways that made access to Universal Studios and Osaka Castle easy. The Toyota car rental company which we used was a short 8 minute walk away, with us wheeling 3 big suitcases.

All in all I will choose to stay in Dormy Inn again if I visit Osaka.

Great indoor onsen. Clean single room with great breakfast. I have to wait 1 hour for breakfast as there are too many ppl. Suggest to go as early as possible. Probably the best hotel breakfast at this price range. Like the late night ramen and drink. Great location close to the central downtown.

The hotel is pretty clean and simple. It has all the basic facilities that you would expect of a hotel + it has its own hot spring and late-night supper/hot drinks provided!

We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room (standard twin room) and there is a Family Mart conveniently located just next door!

The hotel staff was also very helpful and polite. For example, one of the hotel staff, Mia-san (not sure if I get her name right though), helped me to make a haircut appointment nearby at Shisaibashi; she also provided me guidance on how to get to the airport on my check-out day.

However, among all the pros, there is still one down-side to the hotel - the pillows and blankets. The pillows provided are flat, with not much cushioning; it will be good if the hotel provided fluffy and more sturdy pillows. The blankets were alright but you can see the inner layer flowing out (or maybe it was the housekeeping for our room that didn't tidy it nicely).

Other than that, we are quite pleased with our stay here!

Room Tip: Corner rooms seem to be more spacious - we were lucky to get one
