My wife and I visited the gallery, located in two adjacent buildings with a total of five floors. The goods ranged from small inexpensive items to quality prints. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. A must for those who want to take home a quality reminder from this great city.

The Gallery of Kyoto Traditional Arts & Crafts is a showcase for local artists practising in traditional genres. There are some beautiful pieces here. Many are for sale

Demonstrations with sales on third floor, master (teacher?) and graduating student show on forth floor. Variety of crafts from students in second floor. Changing exhibit on first floor: on my visit it was manga and illustration work.
First floor free, entry to other floors by admission. No photographs floors 2-4.
Personally, a better place to visit than MoMK.

The museum has extensive exhibits of traditional crafts such as wood carving, pottery, lacquer making, and much more. We discovered that visitors can watch geiko and maiko perform a short dance or play an instrument for free every week. Check the schedule and come early for a good seat. You will have ample photo opportunities of these beautiful dressed women.
