Edgewater cottage is very comfortable and spacious: a proper -sized house with everything a family needs. It is a beautiful spot, looking out over Lough Erne, but there are other houses nearby so it is not too lonely. We used this as a base for exploring the area, because it suited us to do our shopping and buy petrol in sterling. Nearby, we went to Devenish Island, White Island, the Marble Arch caves, Belleek factory, as well as national trust properties in Florencecourt and Coole Castle. Further afield, we went to and the Ulster Folk Museum, Belbulben (Yeat's grave), Slieve League cliffs and Glencolmcille, Glencar waterfall, as well as the beach at Rossknowlagh and Mullaghmore. Except for Glemcolmcille, this was all within about 90mins drive! So for exploring Northern Ireland, Sligo, south Donegal and Cavan / Leitrim, it really is ideal.
We stayed 6 days and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cottage is modern and is much larger than it looks on the website. It is set amongst a group of similar cottages on the edge of a pretty lake . it has fairly good views. The kitchen is large and has all the basic requirements for self catering.
We easily did day trips to Donegal and Belfast
