I have just spent the last 4 days at this amazing and tranquil retreat high in the mountains above Modena.
From the wonderful, friendly and attentive staff, to the rooms, the views, the gardens, the outdoor pool, the decor, the spa facilities and the fabulous restaurant, I cannot fault it.
The staff were fabulous , always happy to help and I loved the way the owner came and chatted one evening to me about the hotel.
The rooms are amazing with clean cut decor, stylist retro furniture, a beautiful stylist bathroom containing an enormous Jacuzzi and mood changing lights.
The views from the terrace are wonderful, stretching from Bologna to Modena and all the little hamlets and vineyards inbetween.
There was lots of outdoor seating and a lovely large cabana, just ideal for relaxing in.
The outdoor pool is large and had plenty of sunbeds to relax on.
The whole decor of the hotel is beautiful with little touches added that make the Gelso so special and welcoming.
The spa facilities were wonderful and open from early morning to late it night with a steam room, a sauna, a large Jacuzzi pool with mood changing lights.
And finally the restaurant, the continental breakfast was great with plenty of choice but I have to say the restuarant was one of the best I've been to in Italy with an amazing and varied choice of dishes which offer something for everyone, to the high quality of food which is locally sourced and made fresh to order.
The waiter who looked after me each evening was simply wonderful with an amazing knowledge of the dishes on the menu.
Thank you to the staff and owner if the Gelso Bianco for a wonderful holiday...i shall be back next year.

I stayed for two nights in this great small hotel and truly anjoyed the quiet atmosphere and the great food and surroundings. The hotel has only 3 rooms and a great view overlooking some hills and villages.
The food is really exceptionally good and a must for everyone who stays there.
The Spa is very spacious and really enjoyable with the large indoor pool. Now in autumn was the perfect time for a stay as it was very quiet but the weather still amazing!

We stayed at the Gelso Country Resort for 2 nights. From the moment we arrived Mateo made us very welcome. Our room was well appointed and spacious. We are in the restaurant both evenings and the food and service was excellent. Perfectly placed for visits to the Ferrari and Lamborghini museums. A perfect relaxing getaway nestled in the hills. Would highly recommend and definitely visit again.
