The food is delicious (especially if you are looking for thin crust pizza). Service is wonderful and atmosphere a delight. Great place to socialize with friends or even a business meeting.

We used to make a point of visiting Prima Strada when in Victoria as it was known as the best location for pizza in the city. We are so fortunate to have them in the Cowichan Valley, specifically in Cobble Hill.
We have been multiple times since they opened and always we get; an immediate and warm welcome, great service, consistently tasty, fresh and hot pizza. It can’t get any better than this!

I wish I could say this restaurant had it all, we were so hopeful to finally have a neighbourhood place we could bring our family and have both adults and kids enjoy their meal. But unfortunately their menu is not kid friendly, and the service was terrible on the day we chose to visit.

We were seated and then ignored, despite having arrived early and the restaurant was still mostly empty. Our waitress didn't even acknowledge the kids, just asked for our drink order and dissapeared. We could see crayons and paper at the hostess stand and had to ask the bartender if we could go get some.

The menu is very traditional, which is great because we've been to Naples and knew what to expect. But we were surprised they didn't offer smaller sized pizzas or single toppings for the kids. How hard is it to cut a ball of dough in half and make two small pizzas?? They wouldn't let us order anything but what was on the menu, no changes or substitutions, so we ended up getting the 4 cheese pizza for the kids. The four cheese had Gorgonzola in it which was really strong, I even found it too much and I'm a cheese lover! Thankfully the gelato was really good and helped us salvage the end of our meal.
Overall we were dissapointed, and decided it's more of a date night place than a family meal kind of place.

In the hopes this feedback leads to improvement, maybe Prima Strada will consider expanding their menu with some options that will appeal to your smallest patrons.
If you really want to be a family restaurant, which most Italian eateries do, then let me make you an offer you can't refuse...smaller sizes and choice of toppings, some fresh cut veggies to munch on while the pizza cooks, and crayons at every table with a big strip of plain paper for endless doodling...THAT is a kid friendly experience. Capice?

My partner and I had a hankering for authentic wood-fired pizza, but we didn’t want to travel downtown to the Cook Street Village location because we figured it would be like a zoo with a lineup out the door; so, we thought we’d give the new Cobble Hill location a try. Sure, it’s a little bit of a drive from the suburbs of Victoria, but it’s also very nice to do during good weather. In any event, it was about 7:30PM when we arrived and, yes, it was busy, but we didn’t have to wait for a table. In fact, we had our choice: indoor or outdoor (we chose indoor).

I really like this new location: it is much larger than the flagship operation at Cook Street Village and a lot brighter, too, because of the much larger windows. The atmosphere is upbeat yet casual just like the other locations. The staff are also very friendly, serving you with a smile. When it came to ordering, my partner and I settled on the: polpette della casa (meatballs, shaved parmigiano and house bread); the panna e cotto (cream, house-smoked ham, confit garlic, mozzarella, gorgonzola, fresh chives, and added peperoni); and the Marinara pizza (tomato, fresh garlic, oregano). Without getting too wordy, all of the food was fantastic. We both absolutely love the polpetta della casa – the meatballs are seasoned beautifully, are juicy and full of flavour. We love that they come with a healthy serving of sauce – great to scoop up with the warm, soft house bread. And the pizzas? Well, they’re authentic Neapolitan and were of the same excellent quality we’ve come to expect from Pizzeria Prima Strada. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients used and it makes for a delicious pie!

RECOMMENDATION: I really cannot say enough good things about Pizzeria Prima Strada. Everything comes together into a cohesive whole: The setting, the atmosphere, the service and the food are all top notch. You pay for a quality product and it is quality you can taste with each and every bite. Highly recommended!

Loved their 'made from scratch authentic thin crust pizza'. Will be back to try more items from their menu.
They also serve GOOD coffee.
