Pahalgam is an extremely beautiful place and Himalaya house was a good choice.The location of the hotel is great, river Lidder runs in full flow near the hotel, infact a part of it runs from below the hotel and snow capped mountains all around. The booking and check in was good. There is lawn with table ,chairs outside the hotel.The restaurant windows also face the mountains. My room was on first floor on the right side (think it was 101) just next to the restaurant.The room had balcony facing the beautiful mountains.The room was big with a bed, heating blanket , tv ,table and 2 chairs and windows facing the mountains.The room could have been cleaner. Bathroom was clean,should keep a mat ouside bathroom . The hotel had wifi.The food (both veg and non veg) was great, both days we reached late for breakfast and on calling Mr.Iqbal , hot parathas , puris etc were served. The hotel staff is polite and very supportive.Inspite of their fasting they did an excellent job,kudos ! They offered us hot water for drinking in flasks.Please note that the hotel is 2 km away from the main market so better take the food package.For lunch do not miss Dana Pani restaurant in the market. Visit Bahisaran on horse ride , and Aru valley,Betaab valley and Chandanwari in local car.Himalaya house is very much recommended .

Room tip: Better to take breakfast & dinner in the package.Go for direct booking with the hotel for good service.

This place is a little treasure. The staff are all friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. The rooms were basic but comfortable and clean. The food was excellent. There is an area at front with large lawn and tables to eat and have a drink that is very relaxing, with the snow capped mountains almost surrounding you. We had the good fortune of going for a walk thru the pine Forrest with Aijaz a trekking guide for the area who just happens to work at the hotel. He was telling us all about the different treks etc that you can organise thru the hotel and we were really wishing that we were better informed about what was on offer re activities in this area and would have allowed more time here. Aijaz and others at the hotel are all so enthusiastic about their home that you feel very welcome immediately.

I and another 5 friends visited Kashmir from 27-Apr to 4-May 2018. It was an awesome 7D7N self-arranged trip. We did covered Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg.

We stay in this hotel from 30-Apr to 2-May 2018. Booking was done via Agoda.

Overall review;

- A small family run hotel by and above Lidder River with nice garden.

- Staff are very friendly and helpful especially Mr Aijazz.

- Simple and clean room with electric heater blanket to help us warm during cold night.

- Buffet breakfast provided. Even though the foods not variety, it is enough for the guests.

- You can bring your food and have it in the garden or by the river.

- Reception manager, Mr Iqbal has not showing a welcoming attitude during my check in process. There is an issue where by booking via Agoda was not received by the hotel. Without looking at me, he asked me to contact Agoda. I did not have my phone due to no roaming while in Kashmir. Luckily my driver Mr Umer lend me his phone. After few calls, we mamaged to sort things out.

Just like the rest of Pahalgam, the Lidder river flows by the hotel as well and makes for an absoluetly delightful location. The sound of the river was like a miracle cure to our city woes! A bit away from the market area so perfect if you want a peaceful getaway. The rooms are very spacious, ours had a balcony. Having Kashmiri chai in the balcony, watching the river go by is a memory that stays back. The staff was friendly and made sure we have a great time, Ajaaz was super helpful and a great host . The food was delicious and very well prepared, we couldn't stop eating. Stay here for a wonderful experience in this paradise of a village!

Room tip: Ask for a room with a balcony!
