“EXCELLENT... A REAL PLEASURE!”
Reviewed 2 May 2012

This is a wonderful place to stay. Wipa, the owner and her staff can't do enough to make your stay special.Seeing it is out of the rush & bustle of Phuket having the car & driver for 9 hours is a real treat. The setting is great, with a beautiful swimming pool right outside your door. Breakfast is brought to your room each morning which is a real treat.

I had to do a business presentation and seeing one of the 3 bedroom luxury apartments was free Wipa allowed me to use that at no charge which was very decent of her.

Good old fashioned service! Nothing is too much of a trouble. Eager to please.

Planning on staying here every time I go to Phuket on business & pleasure.

Our 4th visit to the Rising Sun Residence in Phuket was, as usual, a relaxing, wonderful time for all the family. Wipa and Methee (hosts) are always welcoming and put themselves out to accommodate our needs. The villas are private and the pool, at the end of a hot day looking at the sights, is bliss. A driver is provided for 9 hours a day and he was always available and happy to accommodate our specific needs, including taking us to dinner and waiting for us to finish. The staff at the Rising Sun always have a smile on their faces and are happy to assist us with any of our needs. Wipa organised a Thai cooking class for us again, which is always informative, fun and we always enjoy sitting down and sampling the results. Breakfast is always good with extensive menus being supplied, which we select from. The food is then prepared in the villa for us by a staff member who is unobtrusive. Accommodate in the villa is excellent and substantial, and we enjoy kicking back, relaxing and having cocktails around the pool. We will certainly stay at the Rising Sun Residence again, as we feel we couldn't find a more accommodating, relaxing and better place to stay. Thank you Wipa, Methee and staff. We chose the Rising Sun Residence because we wanted a quiet place in Phuket to relax and it turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. We stayed for three days in March in one of the one bedroom villas (number 4 if I remember it well) which are clustered around the main swimming pool in the lower part of the property. The down side of that location is that the view to the sea is fairly limited and it is quite a climb up the hill to get to the reception area (the staff use a fleet of mopeds to shuttle up and down). However the surroundings of lush vegetation are very nice and the swimming pool area is really beautiful. The villa itself is comfortable with a bedroom of medium size, a large living room and a bath room with both a bath tub and a shower stall. Only the bedroom is air conditioned and the rest is cooled through cross ventilation and a ceiling fan (also available in the bedroom). Though it was fairly hot during our stay, we never suffered from the heat inside but I would have preferred a quieter air conditioning system in the bedroom (it was not that bad but you could definitively hear it). WiFi is available (fairly slow at time but workable) and the TV comes with a zillion channels. Breakfast is provided in the villa by one of the staff who finishes the preparation in the villa itself using, among other things, the espresso machine which is part of the equipment of the villa.

We would have felt fairly isolated, had the residence not provided us with a car and a driver for nine (consecutive) hours each day as part of the package. That allowed us to have a fairly relax morning in the residence taking advantage of the swimming pool and then tour the island in the afternoon before going to diner. That was organized every day by Wipa who ensured that we had an interesting day followed by an excellent diner in various part of the Island. Wipa and her staff are really outstanding making sure that the residence in maintained in top shape and that the guest are well looked after. This aslo applies to our driver who was punctual, smilling, accomodating in addition to be a prudent driver

Our only regret after staying at the Rising Sun Residence is that Phuket is too far away from our home base in Montreal for us to be frequent visitor.

Stayed here for 2 nights - but wished we had time for more. Hosts and staff were extremely welcoming and the property itself has a special feel to it. The owners have certainly put their heart and soul into it.

Phuket Island itself has limited appeal, but this place alone makes a return visit a distinct possibility.
