We spent a very peaceful and sunny week in Herons Cove. The terrace is wonderful to sit, have a cup of tea and enjoy the landscape and the view to the bay. The house is very spacious and technically well equipped. It´s perfect to make trips to Sheeps Head or Mizen Head and the walks along the coast are very beautiful.
We stayed at Herons Cove Cottage last year and were so happy we came back again this year. The house is perfect, very private and the setting is stunning. It has its own access to a private little cove where we enjoyed watching the wildlife and just soaking in the ambience.
Its a great base for local sightseeing and Ballydehob is only 4 kms with its lovely cafes and restaurants.
All round a great venue, a most enjoyable holiday and we would highly recommend this lovely cottage.

The whole experience was great. The owner communicates well and meets you to take you to cottage. The cottage itself is like something out of Ideal Homes and the views are spectacular with access to the Cove.

Kathleen & Tony are warm, generous and delightful. Nothing is too much trouble. You are met by Kathleen or Tony in Ballydehob as the cottage is not on the map.... Do not be put off by this, the country lanes are small and interesting and it is well worth the journey.
The views over the cove are incredible, the beauty of the area is breathtakingly stunning, you will never tire of it. Take binoculars with you to see the seals and wading birds that frequent the area.
The cottage is homely and cosy especially with the log burner working.
The local area is a must to explore. We found everyone to be warm, friendly and welcoming.
If you like walking go to the Sheeps Head Peninsula, go prepared as the weather can change rapidly. This one of a very few walking areas as there are NO public rights of way across the land. - you can walk on the roads.
The cottage is an idyllic retreat away from the hustle of modern life.
A lovely warm welcome from Kathleen, and the house was beautifully quiet in a lovely position. Fresh made food from Hudsons cafe in the village, and plenty of wood on the wood burner made the Winter evenings in the house cosy.
