It's not the Ritz but for its location, price and coziness it's a steal! Stayed in a suite and triple room with my family of 6 adults and had a good night sleep every time. Slightly off the main road, it is quiet peaceful day and night. Room is fairly large, l'occitane toiletries in the suite, free bottled water, free minibar with 3 sodas replenished daily. The WIFI is fairly reliable and complimentary. There are some small restaurants just out on the street, like an excellent Japanese place serving curried katsu rice, delicious ramen and other fare. A cat cafe, a place that serves Hong Kong style duck and goose, a great Tonkatsu restaurant also all within 2 minutes walk. Seven eleven, wellcome market and a fruit shop all within walking distance. The east metro mall sn underground walk and the mrt has its entrance just round the corner, not to mention two great Sogo department stores, both also with entrance to the mrt in their basements. Service is courteous and efficient, and they speak fairly acceptable English.
During my stay the east metro was under renovation which was disappointing, but with so many places within reach by mrt like the Taipei Main Station, ximending, xinyi, etc, you have your shopping bases covered. The hotel restaurant which serves a good buffet breakfast was also under renovation, but there is the Backpacker cafe right around the corner which serves a slam bang jolly English breakfast, or McDonalds or Starbucks close by. Oh, and they offer a limo service to and from the hotel for a fair price of NT 1800 for 6 people which beats taxi fare. All in all a home away from your home literally!

Room tip: Get the suite room, it is just a slight price increase over the triple room even with an extra bed.

Overall Hotel is well maintained and this is an old hotel. Room is standard but to me it is not bright enough. Need to have more lights. Breakfast is offered by the restaurant next door cost TWD300 each and I didn't try.

This hotel was recommended to us by a local who live in the neighborhood. It is in an ultra convenient location: minutes walk to MRT, shopping, local street eateries, & restaurants, grocery stores,...
Within a block, there are 2 Sogo department stores to choose from. One block, you will find the street with local eateries, a McDonald, and a Wellcome grocery store.
We find the staff friendly, and eager to help. The bellman/ concierge readily assists with luggage, or a cup of cappuccino.
The room itself is decent size (Asian standard). The bathroom is surprisingly spacious! It is updated with nice shower, spacious vanity cupboard, toilet with heated seat.
The fridge has complimentary soft drinks, and 2 water bottles. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Check out time is noon.
We stayed there 2 nights, in a room toward the back street. It was quiet for us. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend others staying here. We would definitely come back. It is good value for a 3-star hotel.

it has prime location but it wasn't what we need. i was with my 90 year old aunt. she can walk very well but the steps at the front entrance made her worry. it was not an easy job. also we booked a car the streets are mainly busy so we have to wait till after 10 am to avoid traffic.

the twin bed room are bigger with a large toilet. however there is a step between washroom and bedroom. it is not convenient for old people especially at night.

Room tip: its near to subway station and sogo department store
