Room was clean. We stayed at the 2nd building so you have to cross the street for the gym, pool and breakfast. Not a big deal.

Nice fish tanks in the lobby of the 2nd building.

The gym has free classes, like yoga and Zoomba. My mom loved that and used it each morning. I give 5 stars just for the complimentary classes. Making my mom happy is usually not that simple.

Breakfast is pretty typical for this kind of hotel in Taiwan.

The initial thing that strikes you is the unimpressive lobby which had a lingering smell, but not as bad as the lifts which were really smelly!
The staff and rooms were nice enough but the bed was hard and sheets over starched.
Oh did I mention shampoo and body wash containers screwed to the wall in the shower shouting nearly 3 star!
The breakfast was in the sister Tempus hotel about 30m away across the road. Don’t bother with the walk the breakfast isn’t worth it, very poor, looks like they searched for the cheapest ingredients then haggled over the price!
I realised your somewhere poor if they have breakfast vouchers or shampoo etc in bottles screwed to the walls the true hallmark of cheap !

This location has been around for a while but has been ahead of its days by being located in a up and coming area from 20 years ago. It meets all the basic standards without the frills. One benefit is the access to the spa/gym behind the hotel.

Comfort - 3
Rooms are nice with a western feel. They’re spacious for Asian standards. Would consider this more of a business hotel than romantic.

Cleanliness - 4
The staff do their needed work but as mentioned a little weathered so there’s some mold and cracks in the bathroom area (minor).

Location - 4
More located in the newer area a Taichung but a cab/Uber or rental car is needed to get around.

Would return to this location since it is convenient and inexpensive.

Nice hotel, excellent service, a great option when staying in Taichung City. The gym/spa is next door and is good, adequate for a several day stay. Breakfast was buffet style and changes slightly daily, Chinese and non-Chinese dishes. The room was quite large, bed was very firm. WiFi was spotty at best, it constantly dropped out in the room. Overall, a good place to stay.

There is an older main wing, and a newer wing across the road. We stayed in the new wing in a large room with two double beds and two bathrooms/showers. The beds were comfortable, clean and attractive. House keeping polite and efficient. Front desk staff helpful and efficient. The included buffet breakfast was a bit lacklustre, but plentiful and filling. The hotel stops the buffet at 10am weekdays. There is an adjacent large gym and swimming pool. Looked in the gym- seemed good, and quite busy. The pool is old-ish and outdoor, but large with plenty of space for loungers & tables. Water a bit cold for kids but ideal for swimming laps. There is a steam room, large jacuzzi (12 people easily) and another pool set up with high pressure jet massagers.

My daughter cut her foot on a sharp stone in the pebble-dash pool lining. The lifeguards very quickly got the first aid kit and patched her up very skilfully and gently (thanks lifeguard Tina!).

Didn’t try the seafood restaurant in the foyer of new wing, but it has beautiful salt water decorative tanks outside that the kids loved.

Good safe bet for a family hotel.
