Hotel is connected to the Taipei City Hall station via the mall, making it really convenient! It was a mere few minutes walk to Taipei 101 and a few train stations to Raohe night market (personal fav) and other areas of Taipei. The room lives up to the W expectation with wall to ceiling windows, huge bathrooms and of course the signature W bed and pillows.

What was disappointing was that reception was lukewarm at check-in; they did not attempt to follow up on my request to pay to upgrade my room to a 101 facing room upon check in. Also, there was some construction going on and the room smelt rather heavily of smoke even though it is a non-smoking hotel.

Overall, would pay for the location, but service and housekeeping could be better improved.

Room Tip: Pay to upgrade your room to face Taipei 101; the view is spectacular.

I traveled (first time) to Taipei for a conference. My wife and I arrived a few days early so that we could see the city and sights.

The hotel amenities were very nice. Modern room, VERY clean. The staff was extremely helpful in ensuring we had a fully satisfying stay. All of the staff understood English, and they ensured that wherever we wanted to go, we had the address in Chinese characters to show to the cab driver. The concierge gave us their direct number in case we had difficulty, and also provided us with the Hotel's Chinese address for the return trip.

EVERYWHERE in the hotel, the staff were asking us if we needed anything and how could they help us. It is the best hotel I have ever stayed at in my 40+ years of travelling around the world, mainly because of the staff's willingness to help. I have stayed in 5-star resorts that treated me worse than this. If you are going to Taipei, this is a very good place to stay.

My wife was very excited about the commode -- it has a 'space age' control panel and performs all sorts of things for you. Bidet / rear wash with pulse and pressure controls, heated seat, heated air drying, etc. She especially liked that after 45 seconds or so of no one in the area, the lid closed (every man should have this function in their house).

The limo from the airport (TPE) was about $100 US ($3000 NTD) and was very nice. The trip was about 35 - 45 minutes from the airport and after a long flight, it was well worth it not to worry about a taxi.

Room Tip: Request a room facing Taipei 101

This hotel is a hip and well know in Taipei and it located in a great location that beside the train station and surrounded by shopping mall, and near to the Taipei 101, some on the rooms is just facing to the Taipei 101.
The breakfast is very good, many choices, gym and pool is good even the pool is not heated.
The hotel is great just a little bit over rate and over price.

Room Tip: Get a higher floor, the lobby bar can be noisy

The fantastic suite is spacious, chic and modern design which is suitable for a birthday party, but the service was not that good as the room, we called the whenever wherever service to get a ice bucket and waiting for it over 25 mins, one thing I like the most is Yen Chinese restaurant, it's worthy to try the nice food there

Stayed for 4 days three nights. Got a city view room at level 23 overlook Taipei 101 which was wonderful. I have arrived at Taoyuan International Airport and took the airport bus number 1960 to City Hall Bus Station. The journey took slightly over an hour and cost NT 145. And W Hotel is right next to it. At 11am when the shopping mall is opened you can walk through it to the hotel and vice versa. Basement 2 has a wide variety of food and restaurant available. It's connected to Eslife bookstore which has a huge collection of books. Taipei 101 is about 10 min walk from the hotel. At level 12 there's a spa and bath area. The bath area has three pools: Warm, Hot and Cold, each with the temperature gauge showing 38.5C, 39.2C and 15.5C so you know what your body is getting. In the warm pools there are two deck chair with jacuzzi and it's really good! Right next to it there's a sauna (86.5C) and steam room (42.5C). The place is quiet and there are 5 white leather lazy chairs, each with a TV and headset that you can sit back, relax and watch some movies. I spent twice a day at this area and it was truly refreshing. Also tried the bar lounge at level 10 and at level 31. Each has it's own attraction. But the bar food at level 31 is more creative and tastier. The conception of cocktails at the bar is pretty awesome too, with Chinese tea infusion that blend well. From W Taipei we took the MRT (yes, it's connected too) to TamTsui (the last station on the North West and to various attractions such as West Gate and East Gate. You can purchase a 48 hours MRT card that starts when you tab at the entry gate and you can just travel anywhere you like. MRT tracks are well connected. The only issue i have is that there is no connection to Taoyuan International Airport and I have to take the same bus number 1960 back to the airport. Even the HSR (high speed rail) is not connected to the airport. It will be great if there's a direct train from Airport to Taipei city that saves time and is more convenient to the travelers. Overall W Taipei has been a pleasant stay, great location. We will stay again in our next trip to Taipei.

Room Tip: ask for City view that overlook the Taipei 101 Building, awesome view!
