Stayed in a 4 pax room for two nights. The room is beautiful, artistic, and big. The bathroom is also very spacious. The owner is very helpful. When we checked out of the B&B, we have forgotten to pack our iphone charger. She couriered the charger to our next B&B in Taipei.

Stayed: December 2014, travelled with family

We really enjoyed our stay at Traditional Arts Villa. The host, Irene, was very friendly and helpful (she also spoke English pretty well too!). Lovely setting and gardens. We were offered a choice of a Western or Taiwanese breakfast. We chose the Taiwanese and it was large, with a wide variety of foods.

The owners were super helpful. The place is very comfortable and clean. The beautiful garden and lake outside were the highlight for me. Very near the bicycle track along the river. Was such a nice cycle down that stretch!

A friend and I stayed at Arts Villa from 7-10 April 2014 and had a really great time. The villa is modern with care taken in the quality of architecture and materials used. The garden is superb with great care and attention paid to layout, water features, plants and trees. From the terrace, you can see a large pond with water reeds and wild fowl. You can hear some traffic noise from road some distance away, but this does not spoil the charm and peace of the villa. We stayed in a large room with it's own terrace and outdoor seating area. The room is very clean, well maintained and comfortable to stay in. The bed and pillows are very good. The bathroom is large with walk-in shower as well as large bath tub. Tea and coffee is available in the room.

Breakfast was served in the dining room behind the reception area. In addition to fruit, juice, tea and coffee, a full traditional Taiwan breakfast was served - they have a vegetarian option too. If you prefer something lighter, just ask.

Irene and her husband were the perfect hosts. They helped us plan routes, dropped us at bus stops and the train station and were very attentive to our needs - nothing was too much trouble. They are both terrific people, very knowledgeable about the area and Taiwan and make you feel like your are part of their family rather than guests.

Public transport around Yilan is excellent and most things are in English as well as Chinese. We were impressed by how clean everything was, the helpfulness of the people, the great value for money and the array of places and things to do/visit. I recommend a trip to Taiwan - visit Arts Villa when you're there, you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Go for the larger rooms with their own terrace with direct access to the wonderful garden.

We stayed there for 3 days. The B&B is located in the country side, takes about 15 minutes by taxi to go to the city centre. The garden is very well designed and one can easily relax there for a few hours. Unfortunately, its neighboring B&B is a real kitsch building, the view of which you cannot avoid. The room is large and bed comfortable. Everything is very clean. Only minor drawback is the bathroom. The shower head pressure is a little weak and there isn't a tray to put shampoo, lotion etc.
The real outstanding feature of this B&B is the hospitality of the hosts. The young couple Irene and Ah Dong go way out to make your stay a comfortable one. They drove us to the bus station, checked travel itinerary for us etc. They treat you more as friends than as guests.
Breakfast is also very good. Nicely prepared fusion Chinese style - a lot of food indeed.
All in all, a wonderful stay and highly recommended.
