It’s around 15 mins walk from Xin Beitou Mrt station just follow the signage after exiting station. You will steam coming out from a pond from a distance , the temperature is said to be nearly 90 degrees . The water from hot spring is greenish and steam is continuously seen escaping from water surface .
A visit to this place should be definitely on the list when you come to Beitou!

Its not difficult to find. We came to XinBeitou for Onsen so did a small walking tour around the area. All walking distance.. library , museum, public hot spring than hell.
No need to purposely go but since you are in the area , just pop by and see since there is no entrance fee.

A neat thermal lake with no admission fee. The lake is nearly boiling and they used to let locals cook food here until too many people were seriously burned. Interestingly the lake also naturally mildly radioactive.

Otherwise a picturesque 15 minute excursion. No reason not to check it out.

Just saw a miserable pond with hot water & strong sulphuric smell. Nothing fantastic. Renovation work was ongoing.
