Housed in the Andara hotel, the Silk Restaurant has a nice atmosphere. We sat outside so had a view of the pool but also had to fight off the bugs. Fans kept a nice breeze going. Service was fine (but zero smiles - do they know what country they are working in? :-) )
Started with cocktails - vodka martini and a cosmopolitan. Both were good. Food was very tasty, with one exception... we had pomello salad, crispy snapper w sweet and sour sauce, and the Penang curry w Japanese silken tofu. Those were excellent. The "one exception " was the French onion soup. It was all bread and cheese - no "soup/broth"!? Strange, and disappointing to my husband who is a big French onion soup fan. But otherwise the dinner was quite nice. This meal, served with a glass of pinot noir and a glass of pinot gris, cost 3,100 THB, roughly $100 USD for 2 people.
