Took a short break in the depths of mid-Winter in this lovely peaceful cosy cottage With a fabulous inglenook fire, the cottage had central heating as well so we always came back to a lovely warm house. . Wireless internet access allowed us to browse local attractions on line. Many thanks to Jacqui for a wonderful stay can’t wait to come back!

Had a pleasant week at this cottage, the owners were welcoming and the Christmas tree and lights in the fireplace were a nice touch, as were the mince pies and cream.

Property was clean and although it was compact, it was very well equipped. The cottage does adjoin the owners but they also live above you, so it was noisy when they were walking around up there, and the little cottage shook when they closed their doors! Privacy was respected and although we were left alone, they made it clear that they were on hand if needed.

The only downside really was that it was very cold, we obviously had the fire going every evening but heating from the radiators was a real necessity, but it had been set for very short periods and when it went off, the temperature dropped instantly. There was a boost button to press for instant heat but it only lasted a short while and after a few presses it stopped working. To be fair, the owner did say she would re set the heating if we asked her, but as the heating controls were locked away behind a box, we didn't want to ask, which is our fault, not theirs, but perhaps the heating could come on for a little longer in the winter months as what was saved in heating costs was probably offset by the need to keep boiling the kettle for my hot water bottle! :-(

Overall it was a nice stay, the area is very pretty with some lovely little villages close by. We would probably return to this part of Devon.

We had a warm welcome to the farm followed by a lovely cream tea made by Jacqui. The accommodation was thoroughly cleaned and nothing was to much trouble during our stay. We took our disabled daughter for a weekend to experience farm life, this was achieved with the help of Jacqui and Kelly got to feed and care for the animals. The views on the farm were breath taking.

“Perryhill farm cottage a superbly tranquil and comfortable place”
Reviewed 8 April 2013 for a stay in March 2013

Mr and Mrs Halford and sons offer a very warm welcome to their guests.
Nothing is too much trouble for these obliging hosts to ensure a satisfying stay.
The cottage is very well presented and cosy, even in the bitter cold weather of Easter 2013.
There is everything to hand in the well equipped kitchen and bathroom.
The inglenook fireplace was a great thing to sit by and toast one's toes.
In all no faults could be found in this holiday accommodation.

“Cosy stay with farm fun!”
Reviewed 16 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

Perryhill farm cottage is a lovely place to stay. The owners are welcoming and happy to include guests in farm activities - our 2 year son adored visiting the animals and collecting eggs from the chickens, ducks & geese!
The cottage itself is comfortable and well equipped. The bathroom and kitchen are compact but have all you need - a hot shower, a deep bath, a washing machine and a dishwasher! The living/dining area is spacious with a quirky inglenook fireplace and log burner. A cream tea, flowers and fresh eggs on arrival were nice touches. It was also very helpful to be able to have an online shop delivered prior to arrival.
The location is extremely peaceful except for an early riding cockerel on the neighbouring farm! There are lots of family friendly attractions in the area - particularly for a train obsessed toddler!
We would definitely return!
