The staff here seem helpful and pleasant enough but you get what you pay for at the hotel (which isn't much). Just be careful of what you use in the rooms (some amenities are chargeable). Otherwise Parklane is a very typical Chinese hotel with hard beds and a combined shower/toilet area. Our room also looked a little worn and some of the corners were dusty.
The hotel is a 5 minute drive from the bus station and there are some restaurants in the vicinity, otherwise it is not really near the town center or tourist sights. Still, Meizhou is a small town so just flag a taxi down if you need to get anywhere. Note that taxi drivers in Meizhou always insist on charging a flat fee rather than using the taxi meter. This is illegal so just threaten to report the driver. Or if all else fails, offer an additional ¥5 or ¥10 if the driver agrees to turn on the meter.More
