“Great food and warm welcome”
Reviewed 25 June 2012

For a geuinely welcoming village pub with a local feel, in a postcard-perfect Cotswolds setting with delicious food look no further!! Didn't stay but had a lovely meal in the garden last night (having last been here 3yrs ago and had a similarly good experience). A la carte gourmet food rather than trad pub stuff (so not cheap but worth it). What tops it off is the way they seem really pleased to see you. Places like this are not so easy to find in the Cotswolds and I hope it stays this way. Credit to the staff and owners.

Thank you for your review and I'm delighted you enjoyed our traditional village inn. We love our location and work hard at offering a warm welcome, fabulous locally sourced food all delivered with good service and still going strong after 12 years plan to continue long into the future.
Kind regards
Paul

Great location. A working pub in a very old building. Initial impression a little disappointing through the residents' entrance. This is quickly compensated by exceptionally friendly owners and staff. Cozy room (room 1) with comfortable bed, tea/ coffee, TV. Excellent shower.
Breakfast freshly cooked and first class. Dinner menu not 'gastro' but a class above pub-grub. Very well cooked. Fish courses were first class. Very good table service.
We had 3 nights and will certainly return.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and that you enjoyed your three nights and plan a return visit. I'm pleased you mentioned the fish courses as "first class". Our fish is sourced from Brixham harbour all sustainably caught and guaranteed to us from the ocean within 36 hours! Cockles, mussels, plaice, sea bream, lobster, crab, haddock and cod have all been favourites this week.
Kind regards
Paul

We only had 1night at he lamb inn, but the staff were very friendly and helpful. I liked the relaxed atmosphere of the pub. It made us feel like we were experiencing a local lifestyle and not touristy. The place is so old, but the rooms and facilities were great. It's a shame the weather was so bad that we had to move on.

Arrived at The Lamb after driving through pouring rain from Essex - the minute we walked through the door felt like we were at home,so welcoming. The Lamb Inn is a fantastic building (reminded me of home - only hit my head once on the low ceiling coming down the stairs!). Just like home!!!
We booked dinner bed and breakfast - well breakfast what can I say - huge freshly cooked and struggled to finish it but forced myself!!!
As for Dinner my friend and I over 4 nights must have sampled 75% of the menu and everything we chose was of such a high standard and cooked to perfection.
Our room was the Cheltenham Suite - twin beds so comfy - tea coffee etc in the room - tv with loads of channels .
Oh I could keep on but surfice to say I would recommend The Lamb Inn to even the most picky of my friends!
Thank you all staff and landlord for a great stay !!

Thank you for your kind words and I'm delighted you enjoyed a "BRILLIANT" stay. To enjoy four nights with us and sample the majority of our menus all to a high standard and cooked to perfection is just what we love to hear. I look forward to welcoming your "picky" friends sometime soon!
Kind regards
Paul

Very idyllic Cotswolds country pub with rooms.
Food was traditional English and very tasty.
The staff we met were very polite and helpful and made us feel welcome.
There was nobody on reception when we arrived, during or wanted to check out. I'm not sure if this is normal but it felt a little impersonal.
The suite was as described and as it looked in the pictures - delightful.
Was a little disappointed that there was no bath to relax in but the shower was powerful and very nice.
Bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet (despite the pub being very busy)
All in all a very pleasant weekend break

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and I'm delighted you enjoyed our "very idyllic Cotswolds country pub with rooms. This is exactly what we are and why the reception area cannot be manned all day. A large bell is in this area for guests to ring and my "very polite and helpful staff that made you very welcome" will respond to check you in/out!
