I visited BeTreed Adventures for an authentic and unique outdoor stay deep in the Cambodian forest. What an unforgettable experience! 40kms off the main road, I rode on the back of a scooter inland on a meandering dirt track. Bird watching, hiking, cycling were incorporated alongside the commentary by Ben on the conservation work that is undertaken in this unique location. As a guest, I was able to stay in my own treehouse with ensuite &WiFi. All meals were included in the package. Sharyn and her family cooked tasty, delicious meals a definite plus as I needed the energy for ziplining across the valley of indigenous trees the next day. This amazing engineering feat (one of the many amazing creations by Ben) gives the 400m ride world class status because of the view & the opportunity to zipline multiple times if you wish as you get to zipline back to your starting point. Highly recommend BeTreed to all adventure & Adrenalin junkies. Go for it!

Thanks mariaofarabia! it was fun hosting you and hope to see you here sometime again!
Probably should clarify for others that there isn't actually wifi in the treehouse! but you are able to get a very slow E connection (or an occasional 3G) from your own phone's SIM card (with Cellcard being the best provider!)
All the best in your travelling.

Such a great experience here. The perfect place to see wildlife and trek around the forest. Sharon and Ben are great hosts, cooking tasty vegetarian food and super helpful organising transport. Sleeping in the tree house has a fun experience and a pretty cool place to watch the sunrise.

We just spend a couple of nights at Betreed with our two children (age 3 and 6) and absolutely loved it! From the unexpectedly comfortable stilt houses and tree huts, the wildlife that comes to check out what is happening, the hikes and ziplines to the amazing and heartwarming hospitality we encountered at Betreed: it was just the perfect place to give our (city) boys the experience of nature as it should be.

And the journey to and from Betreed was a really lovely experience as well: finding our way over the meandering paths in the forest, encountering a beautiful remote and deserted temple (we were the only ones there!) Basically a really nice roadtrip of only a couple of hours from Siem Reap. We will be back here, for sure!

Ecotourism done right! This could well be a once-in-a-lifetime learning experience, and it is definitely worth all effort to get there, even if you are coming from Siem Reap, as we did. Ben and Sharyn have lived in Cambodia for decades and they are truly experts when it comes to nature, forests, conservation and the various pressures and threats to conservation. They are passionate and committed to developing BeTreed as a model for communities to learn that it is possible (and essential) to protect the quickly vanishing forests, while creating much-needed income earning oppportunities for the families living in the community. In addition to gorgeous trees, we saw more animals here in two days than we did in many weeks elsewhere in Cambodia. We stayed in one of two stilt homes - ours had a lovely attached shower with hot water. There were two of us but this large space can accommodate a whole group of guests who are comfortable sleeping kind of dorm-style. We loved eating the delicious home-made vegetarian meals, family style, with Ben, Sharon, and their two amazing daughters, Amalie and Jarrah. They explore with you what your interests and abilities are, consider the season and the weather, and literally create a custom-made menu of opportunities for you. We went with the girls and Ben on a long hike to the river where there is a small water fall. We swam and enjoyed a picnic lunch that Sharyn sent along, topped off with fresh-caugh fish cooked over a fire. I also did my first-ever zip-lining which was exhilarating and offered amazing views out over the forest. Ben answered every forest-related question that we had and both he and Sharyn have made it their mission to be sure that guests leave better educated than when they arrived. If you love going off the beaten path, this is the #1 place to head to. Sharyn and Ben will help you with transportation needs. Great for families, school groups, young folks and older ones, too!

BeTreed is truly a unique experience, an ecotourism project that is hard to compare with others in Cambodia. Everything from lodging to food to daily activities was perfect. The network of trails are vast, and there is so much to see including small waterfalls, crumbling temples, beautiful mountain views, and wild fauna (gibbons, langurs, peafowl, civets, and other bird species). This is a little oasis, with Ben and Sharyn working really hard to protect this forest. This is definitely one of the top community-based ecotourism projects in the area, and I would highly recommend it.
