After the Rains is an unique place that has the most amazing view of three mountain ranges, with pleasant staff to meet your needs. The food was very tasty, but healthy and simple. The environment is quite but for the sounds of birds during the day and insects during night, and with the mesmerising sound of the invisible river flowing in the valley below. There is nothing exotic about this place except the view, not many activities for kids, but if you are looking for a place to loose yourself in natural surrounding in the company of nice staff , simple but delicious food ,stay in well maintained clean rooms, visit a few scenic places nearby and have amazingly sound sleep , all at affordable cost, this is it.

As you reach the property, out of the blue you will see fog all around. Apparently just that area has it all through out the year. That gives the nice misty and heavenly feel that one experiences at a hill resort. As we enter the main reception or Club House area, their welcome drink is something special, a real tickle to your taste buds trying to identify its ingredients. and the view of the 2 hills from there is absolutely heavenly. That's the same area for all meals. Good traditional food made from organic raw materials as explained by the manager Mr. Vishnu. He was so warm and courteous that you feel that you have reached an excellent homestay. Surprisingly, for a hill station, the fish preparation was very good.

There is another viewing point further down from the Club house. You can appreciate the hills of both the states of Kerala & Tamil Nadu. Another spot is further up, the lawn of their old reception (as am told) where you see a different view of a river. The third spot is a trek down (so obviously there is a climb back up) is to a naturally formed pond. Its absolutely beautiful to see this in sort of like a small valley. There is provision for fishing and I assure you, you will catch one. En route you will see the cattle reared by them.

Rooms are very clean though it has a bit of a rustic feel blending with nature. The best is the room which has a bath tub which views another valley. Its the ultimate feel.

The place is so aptly named as this is the destination for peace and tranquility. The feeling you experience After The Rains
