We had the Catch of the day which was exceptional.
Unfortunately, there appeared to be a staffing (lack of service). So pur table service wasn't good and also our starters were forgotten before our main. So disappointing in the fact- otherwise I woukd have given a 5* rating. Compliments to the kitchen staff. More

We have stayed at the Master Builders several times and keep returning as we love the peace and tranquility of the location and the relaxed ambience of the hotel. The staff were very polite and professional and went out of their way to meet guests needs. Our room in the quiet Henry Adams annexe was clean and comfortable. The toiletries were exquisite, also the small complimentary Gin & Tonic and shortbread biscuits were appreciated. The bed was spacious, clean and comfortable. We ate in the recently refurbished Riverview restaurant and can definitely recommend the Cote de Boeuf - beautifully cooked and generous proportion. Breakfasts too were delicious. Service on all occasions was excellent with no delays. All in all, sad to check out, hopefully we will be able to return sometime soon.

It is a beautiful hotel in a stunning location. The dinner menu was inventive and all dishes were equally delicious and service impeccable. Also our room was very comfortable.
However the afternoon that we arrived, my wife wanted to sit outside with a pot of tea to relax, seeing that other people were doing the same. We were disappointed to be declined and redirected to your attached pub. When I asked if they served tea, the response was ‘How many teas to you want because it takes ages?’ We were finally served paper cups of tea and coffee from a machine - but not before the barman had to disappear for several minutes in search of sugar. My cup then leaked and had to be replaced. The other barman later explained to my wife that they don’t like serving tea and coffee because the machine ‘breaks down five or six times a day.’ It was only much later that we were informed that the people with pots of tea on the terrace had pre booked afternoon teas. I don’t think a pot of tea for guests was a lot to ask.
Breakfast service was frustratingly slow on weekend mornings (though much improved on the Monday). Teas and coffees were cold before food arrived and we could hear guests at other tables also grumbling about this. I also witnessed a guest requesting a recently vacated window table for breakfast being declined as service was being set for lunch. At 9.30 am, with breakfast still being served, this didn’t seem very welcoming.

We came across this hotel, whilst visiting Bucklers Hard and managed to book a room.
Absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The staff were amazing and attentive. Fabulous service. The room was beautiful and lovely little touches. Food was delicious and beautifully presented.
Stunning location and my partner and I were blown away.

Had a lovely meal in a lovely Riverside restaurant, with awesome views. Food was impeccable, and the quantity was more than enough.
Wine is fair priced, especially being the only bar in a 7 Mile radius.
Breakfast was brilliant, both hot and cold options. Great selection.
The room was comfy, shower was brilliant, and the coffee it to die for.
