We are originally from northern Norway, and came back to the "roots" for a trip down memory lane. The weather was with us, so we wanted to go to the island just a 100 feet from our hotel. Nikolas called a locak guy ( a boatbuilder of the oldschool that we later had the thankful ecperience to visit in his workshop) to rent a small boat to row across. Nikolas offered some cutlery and plates along with a can of coffee, and helped us in anyway to make this exactly what we wanted it to be. Ee fished and grilled the fished we caught out on the island. Later in evening back to the "hotelroom" in main building. 4 bed apartment which would house 4 adults without problem. Just be aware that one have to go trough the one berom to get out or into the bedrom.
Late at night we just loved the little bar and a good burger. Breakfast in the morning was exellent and all the surroundings and interiour is of a high class. Would certainly come back to stay, and we recommend this place to anyone who wants to go to Kjerringøy, or even is looking for ONE place to get a summery of what a paradise North of Norway can be. As we say in Norway...LØP OG KJØP

Came by boat and stopped here to eat.

Very good food and a fantastic view!

The service was very good.

Prices are steep in Norway, this is no exeption.

Worth visiting.

The hotell has nice rooms with seaview over the karlsoyfjord and lofoten.

Room Tip: ask for seaview.

Kjerringøy itself is a highlight of this region. And when you are there, why not spending at least one night at this fine place. Everything is right here. Service, room, view, dinner, breakfast, architecture, and last not least, the sunset.

We were 26 academics that spent a couple of days at the hotel, working on a project. For our purpose, panel session with everyone and smaller working groups with 5-7 people it suited our needs just fine. There's one large meeting room in the main building (the hotel). For smaller group sessions we used the living rooms in the separate houses (rented through the hotel). Food was great. There's no a la carte menu, but orders for the whole group. The staff was very attentive and made the experience a great one. Highly recomandable for meetings and small conferences. The location, in a tiny village, is a postcard example of Norwegian nature at its best. From Bodø, where the airport is located, its an 45-60 minutes drive, including a ferry ride (10 mins).

Room Tip: For bright light summer nights you'd want to make sure that your window face east, or has blinds to shut out the midnight sun.
