On our 2018 trip through Rajastan the most memorable stay was at Chhotaram Prajapat Homestay. The beautiful accommodation in the traditional houses, the friendly hosts who make you feel part of the family, the trips to Jodhpur and the region: it creates beautiful memories.
We are still in touch with Chhotaram. Recently we ordered rugs from the cooperation of home industry that he founded. In this way we support the cooperation by paying a fair price.
When visiting Rajastan we can recommend Chhotaram Prajapat’s Homestay for a unforgettable experience.

Room tip: In case you need transport, the Prajapats are always wiling to help

Had stayed for one night at Chhotaram Prajapat's homestay on my recent visit to Jodhpur. Whether it's staying in the traditional mud hut , savouring local Rajasthani food cooked on wood fire or witnessing the amazing hospitality by Chhotaram Ji and his family , I loved every bit of my stay.

If you are looking at a hotel/resort stay with fancy amenities, this is not the place to be. But if you wish to have an authentic village life experience , please go for it without any second thoughts.

I was a solo traveller and Chhotaram Ji and his family made me extremely comfortable during the stay. Pick up from Jodhpur airport was also arranged on my request. I am not into hiking but I gave it a try on Chhotaram Ji's suggestion. The short hike near the homestay and the sunset view defintely became a memorable experience. I was looking forward to the traditional Rajasthani dressing experience and I thoroughly enjoyed the same ! Chhotaram Ji was also kind enough to take some beautiful pics !

Overall , it was an amazing stay ! Highly recommended !

The place is an impressive getaway for an authentic village experience. We were a group of 12 and went for a day visit to the place. Went around the village and saw artsman and weavers. Great food cooked traditionally on wood fire. Mr. Chotaram Prajapat is a true host in all aspects of hospitality. The place is clean and tidy.

When you think of Jodhpur, a picture with blue houses will pop into your mind, right? but guess what that's just one glam side of Jodhpur which, off course, we wanted to experience and which we even did but keeping our base at this quintessential homestay run by a very warm and polite Durry making family (known as Pajapat) in this very beautiful village of Salawas. The beauty of this place is not only the warmth offered by the owners of this homestay but the food was something to die for. You will get a pure Chulla par bana hua desi ghee wala khana (Warning- people who can't stand desi food can choose not to opt this place for stay). The owners, especially Chhotaramji are true examples of perfect hosts. All the female in the house makes figure licking food and all the men very loving serve you the food giving you a feeling of a treat every time. Its huge joint family, of 4 brothers, whose primary business is durry-making, so you can even buy few exceptionally beautiful and traditional hand-made durries for your home decor. Also, they have 2 stay options, one is a typical and traditional style accommodation with a hundred years old neem tree in the courtyard, where, personally, I loved staying and the other is just in the vicinity with more spacious accommodation and with a huge garden space and few more basic amenities, however, the food is equally good at both the places. We stayed at both the accommodations which were neat, clean and extremely hygienic and we loved them equally. So, its a must go place who is ready to go back in time leaving the modern touch behind and to experience the real village life.
