The villa was spacious and comfortable for our family of six people. The boats gave us enormous pleasure and the views of kingfishers, herons and otters were a bonus. The trips to the river bar were most enjoyable and the diving platforms gave the boys a lot of fun. Our day visiting the Gorge and wild swimming were a highlight and the trip to Lousa castle, although sadly the restaurant there was closed during our visit. The meals out were very good: in particular the restaurante Museu da Chanfana at Miranda and for incredible value the O Gato in Lousa. As we had one of our grandsons, a chef, with us so we also enjoyed great meals in and barbecues were very popular. Heidi and James were superb hosts and from the beginning of our correspondence with them, were very helpful. We were greeted with a tour of the villa on our arrival and a very welcome meal was on the table for us. Heidi gave us fruit from her garden too and in return our chef baked them a rather splendid chocolate cake.
All in all, we cannot recommend this holiday villa highly enough, and thank Heidi and James for a really happy holiday.
