Having booked a night in this place we are very disgusted and would never return, on arrival they could not find our booking because they had booked it on the wrong day and needless to say charged me for their mistake (a refund was given) we checked in and paid and was advised only a continental breakfast would be served to our room on a tray and not as described in the listing, the t.v was smashed to bits and we asked for a new one, when we arrived back at 20:30 tv still the same, the baby was not sleeping and so was the girlfriend when they come up and suggest we move to another room???? Breakfast served and left outside the room with a toaster to make out own toast so we did setting off the smoke alarms, no marmalade or Jam given with the toast just butter, milk is long life milk and very sweet, asked for Apple juice got off something else it was disgusting, when I complained was told can't understand me because I have an accent, then said I should not be so rude because I complained and hung up the phone, when I called back and spoke to Julie she did not seem phased either by the complaint and told be the owners spoke to me earlier....

Don't waste your money at this place it is a shambles, was going to stay once a month but certainly not now, no apologies from anyone and terrible customer service.

I found the interior of the hotel did not match tbe exterior which looks very welcoming. On arrival the reception was tucked away at the back of the bar ! Rooms are very basic and this place could be a really lovely place to stay if given a complete makeover.

Spent 2 lovely days in Gloucester sightseeing. Arrived early and greeted by Laura and Paul. We were shown to our room which was warm spacious and very clean. For us it ticked all the boxes. Wifi was simple to implement. The bus stop accross the road offered easy access into Gloucester a 10-15 min ride away' To avoid confusion remember to get off the bus at Toys are Us for the Docks and the terminus in Eastgate for the Centre and shops. Both are within walking distance of each other. A very enjoyable stay and we have already booked 5 rooms for a Mini Naval Reunion next year. Although the hotel is being sold we were assured that the same high standard would be maintained and all booking honoured - Special thanks to Barbara for looking after us at Breakfast time - She was sweet efficient and knowlegeable.

Ourselves and two friends stayed over at The Little Thatch Hotel for 2 nights to visit the Gloucester Christmas Market, the Cathedral and Gloucester Quays in general.
The hotel is situated on a bus route into town, and not far from the Park and Ride. In spite of the proximity of the road we found there was no noise from the road to speak of and we all slept very well. There was some "early" morning noise by business people who were staying there leaving for the working day, only a bit earlier than we would have been getting up anyway. The rooms are basic and in need of an update it is true, but there was everything needed for a comfortable stay, fresh towels daily - albeit rather threadbare they were clean, white and soft.
The continental breakfast was more than adequate offering cereals, fresh fruit as well as tinned fruit, yoghurts, toast and jam, croissants, some cheese and cold meat, so we did not experience the cooked breakfast but we did have an evening meal there on our second night. We each choose different things from the menu and were all very happy with the food served and the cost. Residents have a separate dining room in the pub which is very comfortable and cosy with a welcoming fire. I believe the building dates back to at least the 15century and is a charming good old fashioned pub - all too rare these days. The staff were without exception friendly and helpful, we would definitely return if visiting Gloucester again in the future. I award it only four stars due to the fact that it is in need of an update, but for the price it was very good value.

Room Tip: Room 9 was bit larger than room 8 and shower room bit better (no carpet!)

We stayed here for one night before a Sunday wedding. Lovely little pub with plenty of character. The room was basic but practical. Shared a double with my five year old and it did us fine, maybe some hot chocolate sachets would have been nice (we didn't ask though). Ate our evening meal in the pub and had a fabulous time. The food was delicious and plentiful. A selection of games and books in the lounge bar for us to enjoy too. Best Saturday night I've had in ages. The bed was a bit noisy and not the comfiest, so unsettled sleep. Breakfast the next morning however was great. Buffet style or you could have had a cooked breakfast, but there was enough for us without. We had cereal, jam, toast, pain au chocolat and fruit. Staff all very friendly and helpful. There is free wifi, a car park and it is close to a selection of supermarkets (we nipped in for provisions before the wedding). Great location, especially for the wedding at Elmore Court.
