Since 11 years (since my son goes to school) we spent always 2 weeks in May/June somewhere in Europe in a rental house. All have been good, but we (a German family of four) have to state, this time was the best taking into consideration the complete package (house, garden, equipment, amenities and relation with the host).
The house and the surroundings are simply amazing, Samuelle a very pleasant host. With Samuelle you have never the feeling to be monitored or controlled, but whenever something is needed, she is available immediately, helping with ideas and recommendations or whatever needs to be fixed.
The house is well equipped and very clean (not an implicitness even with more expensive houses). When you have the chance to visit the other two houses in the same complex, do so. All three are very nice, a little different focus each.
If wanted you can order some fresh bakery products until 10pm. Next morning at 8am you find it at your window. Taste is good, price ok.
Summarizing: strong recommendation! If it wouldn`t be for our internal family rule not to rent the same house twice, we would return for sure.
Many thanks Samuelle!!!
During our three weeks stay in Normandy this summer, we spent two of them in the marvelous Utah House. As accommodation it holds a very high standard; it is well equipped, spotless clean and charmingly decorated. Bedrooms are large with comfortable beds that grant for a very good night sleep. Bathrooms and kitchen have all the modern updates. The outside private garden with a nice flat lawn and a pond was perfect for al fresco lunches, dinners and breakfasts. You could also enjoy sauna, hot tub and the newly constructed swimming pool. The possibility to have fresh bread and croissants delivered to the house was very much appreciated.
Samuelle is a wonderful host. Always there helping out and with loads of information where to go and what to do but also totally respectful of your privacy. We enjoyed her company very much.
The location of the house in Vouilly is ideal for exploring all of Normandy. With our rental car we visited, Ètretat, Honfleur, D-Day beaches, Pointe du Hoc, Bayeaux, Saint Malo, and many of the small towns in between.
We hope we can come back one day and we highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to experience a relaxing, high quality holiday stay.
We spent 2 weeks at this beautiful property in the heart of Normandy, Sam was a great host with advice on places to visit and where to eat.
All of the beaches and attractions are close by and fresh bread is delivered daily.
A great stay
Great quiet location in Vouilly with quick access to N13, great parking for 2/3 cars, Gite is simply amazing with a brand new pool, Xbox and DVD's and Bakery delivery, Fantastic to have a huge private garden for the children to play in. Only possible downsides if forced to think of them are the headroom on stairs if you are much over 6ft or a member of your family struggles with stairs.
Thank you Samuelle - will hopefully be back if we choose Normandy again !!
My wife and kids, along with my in-laws, stayed at the Utah & Omaha Mansions for a week in early May. I don’t even know where to begin. The houses are stunning in both location and decoration. While conveniently located near a small town with grocery store, markets, and shopping, the property itself is private and beautifully maintained. The garden is flat, green, and has a playset for kids (which mine used every day, and are begging for us to put into our own yard back here in the States). There is also an outdoor table, grill, and large dining table. We ate outside almost every night.
The inside of the house is equally beautiful. Samuelle has an incredible sense of design, and many of the art pieces around the house are from her travels. And, while meticulously decorated, it also feels comfortable and family-friendly. The entire house has been renovated, and while the kitchen and bathrooms have all the modern updates, she has maintained the historical integrity and style of the house. It honestly felt like home for the week.
The location of the house in Vouilly is ideal for exploring all of Normandy. We rented a car for the week, and visited the D-Day beaches and Pointe du Hoc, Bayeaux, Mont Ste. Michel, Honfleur, Cherbourg, and many of the small towns in between.
Samuelle is a most gracious hostess – always there to answer any questions you have, but also totally respectful of your privacy. I highly recommend ordering the croissants and baked goods to be delivered in the morning. There is nothing like waking up and finding these sitting outside your window!! We can’t wait to go back and stay again.
