This place is away from the mad rush of the central range, v close to the eastern range of kaziranga, agarotoli. The eastern range is great for birding and you can even see the great river Brahmaputra.
Ethnic cocoon is a warm homestay run by a good team of local lads. Its simple and basic, yet tastefully done with attention to details. Its right next to a huge tea garden so it's great to wake up to.
Nothing fancy, neat and clean place, with local additions of bamboo things here and there. A little shelf with some books, a guitar, some paints, a kitchen team that likes to keep humming, the dog and rooster in the yard all keep you very well entertained.
The food is also good, definitely worth a mention. Local ingredients and they even made a fish dish with elephant apple. Delicious it was.
They have an in-house safari vehicle so you don't have to go looking or booking for one. Book with ritu and he's quite knowledgeable. Knows his birds and animals. Is local.
Its good value for money. The staff put in a lot of effort to make you feel at home. We had a good time. Stayed for two days. Highly recommended.
