I have been to Bampot many times and the food and service never disappoints. Last night, however, was something special. Although Phuket is going into low season, Bampot was heaving and walk-ins were politely being turned away for lack of space. At 10 or 11pm the diners were finishing but the after dinner drinks started flowing and there was a great vibe as people were meeting each other and sharing drinks. We left after midnight and all was going strong.
Max, the new floor manager, was keeping everyone happy and recommending wines and cocktails if people's first choices were not available.
We ate only the small plates, which we nibbled on throughout the evening. Asian inspired cauliflower, oysters, cucumber and feta, mini prawn burgers, bruschetta and country pate were enough to keep us going all night and were perfect accompaniments to our cocktails and wine.
I always recommend Bampot for the food, but it is also a great place to go for the ambience.
