The views from this property are amazing, lush green hills and mountains, upon waking we couldn't hear a thing but bird song. We ate our breakfast on the terrace (warm sunny morning at the beginning of April), those same small birds flying around the edge of the terrace through the lovely gardens surrounding the property. We had slept well overnight the bed is firm, the pillows comfortable (unusual in France), the owner had thoughtfully left the the heating on for a little while the previous evening to take any chill off the rooms. The location is great for going up into the pyrenees to walk or canyon, there is the beautiful town of Ceret in easy reach 15 minutes in the car, where we visited the Modern Art Museum - Picasso, Dufy etc.. a real treat for us. There are plenty of restaurants in Ceret, the whole area is an interesting mix of French and Spanish, even down to the place names. We also took a trip down to the seaside, about an hour in the car... we visited Collieure - it was an idyllic afternoon, lots of art galleries and restaurants and nice shops (no tat here). We sipped Cerveza and ate tapas on the promenade overlooking the beach - wonderful. When we returned to the apartment the light was beginning to fade and as we stood in the kitchen putting together a light meal we watched Eagles soaring on the thermals around the hills. The apartment is very well equipped with cookware - you can tell that the owners have thought carefully about what might be required for their guests. We had been left a settling in pack by the owners - very useful, no rush to get to the shops for provisions. We didn't need the tv and satellite because we only stayed a couple of nights but if you want to be able to have those on in the background they are available with clear instructions on how to use them. There is wifi too so we could FaceTime the little people we had left behind in the UK. Overall we had a lovely stay and the owner made us feel welcome without "crowding" us, we fully intend to visit again.
