We wanted a steak frites type of dinner tonight and had seen this restaurant during our day trip drive today to Le Morne/Baie Du Cap/Flik En Flak. After calling we were happy to discover they were open and headed over. We were warmly greeted and seated promptly at a table outside, and cocktail orders taken. Service was excellent and attentive with warm bread and butter brought to the table almost immediately. We had appetizers of the salmon tartine and deep fried Camembert and for our main course we each had the ribeye steak dinner with frites. Hubby got a side of garlic sauce, and I got one each of the green pepper and the garlic. Although the sauces are charged for, they are generous with the portions, serving them in a small gravy boat. For dessert we split the Creme brûlée, and hubby had a cappuccino and I had the Irish coffee. We also got a nice bottle of South African red blend (Syrah/Grenache) wine. All in all, we thought the pricing to be pretty fair. The cost of our total meal was 4460MUR.....much cheaper than the States where one steak alone would cost 1225MUR ($35US). The steaks, by the way. We're cooked perfectly. They had obviously been marinated. The marinade used had a touch of sweetness which I initially found off putting, however, the sauces were so superb that they counter balanced the sweetness of the marinade. The frites were perfectly done as well. An excellent meal this evening! I highly recommend.
