We wanted a steak frites type of dinner tonight and had seen this restaurant during our day trip drive today to Le Morne/Baie Du Cap/Flik En Flak. After calling we were happy to discover they were open and headed over. We were warmly greeted and seated promptly at a table outside, and cocktail orders taken. Service was excellent and attentive with warm bread and butter brought to the table almost immediately. We had appetizers of the salmon tartine and deep fried Camembert and for our main course we each had the ribeye steak dinner with frites. Hubby got a side of garlic sauce, and I got one each of the green pepper and the garlic. Although the sauces are charged for, they are generous with the portions, serving them in a small gravy boat. For dessert we split the Creme brûlée, and hubby had a cappuccino and I had the Irish coffee. We also got a nice bottle of South African red blend (Syrah/Grenache) wine. All in all, we thought the pricing to be pretty fair. The cost of our total meal was 4460MUR.....much cheaper than the States where one steak alone would cost 1225MUR ($35US). The steaks, by the way. We're cooked perfectly. They had obviously been marinated. The marinade used had a touch of sweetness which I initially found off putting, however, the sauces were so superb that they counter balanced the sweetness of the marinade. The frites were perfectly done as well. An excellent meal this evening! I highly recommend.

The food here is on the pricey side as stated before but it is one of the rare restaurants on the island that produces consistently good food.

Taking your own bottle of wine and paying corkage helps.

One of the best steak houses if not the best on the island. Quite pricey but the quality of the ingredients set this restaurant apart from all of its competitors. I would book to avoid disappointment. This place is highly recommended

Been lucky to eat beef at St John's in Smithfield, London, Morton's in Singapoore and Tokyo and Wagu at Intercontinental in Tokyo. This is right up there ... Much less cost!
Nice staff, good jazz and reasonable wine. Atmosphere good.

Steak is fabulous.

Not one off ...last few occasions. Great matre dee and chef. Will keep coming back. Support this great hidden gem :-)

After hearing nothing but great things about this place, me and my family decided we would try it out on my last night in Mauritius. We arrived there at 8:30 and ordered calamari and prawn tempura for starters... they didn't arrive until 45 minutes after! We then had to wait another 30 odd minutes for our mains to arrive and overall we had spent 2 and half hours in there simply because of the wait. After complaining to what looked like the manager, we were told that there had been endless problems in the kitchen and that she was sorry but there was nothing she could do, not even a free drink or a small discount for the wait. We asked the waitress if she could at least bring out the food for the small child but still nothing.. i understand that these things do happen, but the way they handled the situation was very disappointing. Tables around us were complaining at how their food was cold and one couple returned their food 2 times because it wasn't correctly cooked. However, I can say that this is the best steakhouse i have visited in Mauritius it was just a real shame about the amount of time we had to wait to get our food. Hopefully this was just a one time thing.
