Hotel was very nice, excellent rooms - especially the Delux suite, staff were really friendly and made you welcome. Prepared to be reasonable with realistic requests. Pool side areas clean and comfortable - and a short two minute walk to a long clean beach. Food very good but dining rooms were under utilised at night. Spa was beautiful but far too expensive for the area - so it sat virtually unused while outside salons were very busy.

What a lovely hotel! The staff were really helpful and genuinely pleased to serve us. The room we had was large and very comfortable, air conditioned, fan, fridge, bath, and separate shower. The maid changed our bed linen and towels every day and the room was spotlessly clean. Having said that, our room was a bit on the tired side but the hotel is gradually revamping the bedrooms and ours was due to be done. Plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe but no shelves or drawers so we used our suitcases as drawers. The room was large enough to accommodate this, we used the third bed to lay our suitcases on (there was 3 adults in one room) our daughter joined us on this holiday.

Breakfast - wow what can I say? Everything and more was there. A full English breakfast, full Thai meal (rice, noodles, curry) salads, meats, cheese, tons of fresh fruit, cereals, cakes, variety of breads, egg chef station, waffles, pancakes, omelettes etc. fruit juices and best of all, ICE CREAM! We only had breakfast at the hotel but the evening meals looked every bit as good as the breakfasts. The breakfast tables were set up in the main restaurant and around the pool, a really lovely setting to start the day. The two swimming pools and surrounding areas are all scrupulously clean in a picturesque setting, sunbeds are very comfortable. The hotel provide a beach bag with fresh towels every day for your use. A small air-conditioned gym but you must wear trainers. When using the gym, the staff will bring you glasses of iced water, a very nice gesture.

Location - Across a busy road to a superb whitish, sandy beach but there is a zebra corssing there although traffic take no notice of it, hotel about a minute's walk from beach. The sunbeds are for hire at 100 baht (£2) per day including umberella. The snorkelling here to the left of the beach right at the end near the rocks is very good indeed.

Eating Out - Just outside the hotel to the left are 7 shack type restaurants. People come from miles around just to use these restaurants. The quality of the food is excellent with a good choice of menu, especially if you like seafood. If you use the one nearest to the hotel, always check your change as he likes to make mistakes in his favour! The other 6 restaurants are all very good and honest. The Kata Villa restaurant about a 5 minute walk away going towards Kata advertise cheap meal deals but don't bother, the food here is terrible and over cooked. The Cafe on the Rocks, on the beach, is in a beautiful setting but is very, very over priced and the staff here are really pompous , a good place to avoid.

Trips - The James Bond Island trip is a must. Pick the tour that includes the canoeing it's a great day out. Book it with one of the stalls in Kata expect to pay about £25 each.

Phi Phi Island by Speedboat - Not such a great trip. Although the boat is fine it trys to go to too many places and you only end up getting about half an hour on each and it seems as though you spend all day on the boat.

Scuba Diving - Use Marina Divers at Kata a very professional dive school, good staff, good boats and very good pricing, the diving is very good. Plenty of leopard sharks about.

Island Tour - Half day tour of the island visiting view points, a temple at Chalong, a lovely experience but you have to take clothing to cover your arms and half your legs.

Dino Park in Kata - A crazy golf course with a difference, well worth an evening's entertainment, it was brilliant.

There is an undercover market about a 20 minute walk to the right as you come out of the hotel great for shopping and getting bargains. If you go to Patong pay about £6 (300 baht) each way for the tuk tuk or taxi, great shopping but you must barter the price.

In our opinion, if you are going to Karon Beach then this is a perfect place to stay we had no negative things to say about it other than our room needing a revamp. We stayed in room 440. If we return to Karon Beach then we would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Andaman Seaview Hotel. The Hotel is lovely, we stayed in a deluxe room which was excellent. It was very clean and remained that way throughout our stay. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, although nobody in the hotel seemed to speak very good English so there was a bit of a language barrier. Regardless of this we had a very pleasant stay here. The beach was a one minute walk across the road and was beautiful. The sea was warm and clear. Although I would recommend this hotel to anyone i was not keen on the resort itself It was rather tacky and seedy at night.

Firstly, don't stay on Karon beach stay on Patong beach. The beach is much nicer, many more places to eat. First impressions were great, but after 1 night there we wanted to leave. It was very expensive for what you get, the hotel is very tired and dated. They offer Wi-fi in the room that you have to pay for but we couldn't even pick up the signal. They said the walls are too thick!! Forget about room service, our meal was terrible and overpriced. This is definately not for younger couples or travellers.

stayed at the Andaman nov 3rd to 17th couldn,t find one thing negative about the entire stay hotel spotless, breakfast more than adequate staff very friendly, they let me plug my wifes e-reader into the computer in the office because we had no charger, no fuss, no charge, big smiles from all the staff. Apart from being right on the beach the hotel could not be closer literally 1 min walk, fresh beach towels supplied every day, shower robes in the room, 5star treatment for a 3 star price. As I write this I am looking to book again for April can,t get enough of the place.
