the hotel was a large lovely looking hotel which was kept very clean and tidy . the resturants food was of a high standard . the hotel was only a short walk away from the bars and resturants and the beach was only across the road . the only thing i had a problem with was the sound of the peacocks in the middle of the night . a must for this holiday is using the tuc tucs to take you out and about as walking to the same bars each night might get a little boring as there are so many at a short ride away . the way the staff treated you was impeciable for example we had a blocked toilet so we rang to inform them within 10 mins it was all sorted . a very happy friendly lovely hotel

Room Tip: i dont think it is worth paying for a view as all rooms seem to have a good veiw

This hotel has passed its prime time. The whole hotel gives you some 80s feel. To sum up things as follows:-

1. Agreed with some other reviewer, unless you plan to stay in the hotel and not going anywhere else, this is the place for you. The hotel is located in Karon Beach, and no free shuttle bus provided to either karon town or patong beach. To 'call' a cab will cost you 400baht one way.

2. Hilton does provide 'free shuttle bus' from the hotel lobby to the main road turning to the hotel, which is middle of nowhere. I find it funny. Why can't hilton let vehicles drive to the lobby? and instead provide some free shuttle services to karon or patong?

3. No private beach! You have to cross a public trunk road to gain access to the beach. And yet, the beach is operated by some locals and you have to pay 200baht to get an umbrella and chair. What is the point of having a BEACH resort without beach???

4. The numbers of restaurant is very limited. At noon, only 1 cafe and 1 international restaurant is opened. The thai and italian restaurant only open after 6. We had stranded in the hotel for 2 days, thought of just going for relaxation and get stomach filled with hotel restaurant, end up nothing much to choose from

5. The Sails Restaurant does have theme buffet every night. And they serve seafood buffet with 'ROCK LOBSTER' as advertised in the hotel on Saturday. We went over for dinner and found out that no LOBSTER was served, instead, they are serving MANTIS!!!!!

6. I frequent 5 star hotels, and as far as I remembered, almost all hotels will provide pillow of different firmness in the room. This hotel only provide soft pillow.

7. No toothbrush and shaver provided.

8. Only rooms have been renovated and acceptable. The lobby and restaurant makes you feel like you were travel through time machine and back in the 80s...

9. The only plus point that I can think of now, after coming back, is they are using Peter Thomas Roth toilette.

Avoid if you can.

We thank you very much for taking time in commenting on our property through TripAdvisor.

We are very disappointed to hear that many aspects of your stay were not up to your expectations.

We appreciate your valuable comments on in-resort shuttle and shuttle services to local areas. We run shuttle buses in the resort as a part of “Green Resort” concept which recommend guests to walk around the resort. So we control traffic in order to secure safety of walking guests.

As you pointed out, unfortunately we don’t have a hotel private beach but Karon Beach is easily accessible from the hotel by crossing the beachfront road and our security guard is always on standby to assist our guests to cross the road 24 hours a day. The hotel has 3 pools, the Ocean Beach Club which overlooks the ocean and the Garden Pool, which is a family friendly pool with plenty of shade and equipped with a waterslide. If you enjoy sunbathing, we would highly recommend our Seafarer Pool where there is also a tranquility pool for people to relax.

Again, we are so disappointed to hear that we couldn’t serve you lobster which is the feature of our seafood buffet at Sails and I have addressed the shortfalls directly with F&B management team to take corrective action accordingly.

Your observations and opinions are appreciated, as they enable us to assess the standard of services and monitor if we are meeting guests expectations.

We sincerely hope that the hotel will have the opportunity to welcome you back to our hotel sometime in the near future.

We stay at a lot of resorts across SE Asia - but was extremely disappointed with this hotel. The majority of staff in main reception, dining and shuttle bus service were just downright rude and aggressive (and actually looked very annoyed that you'd 'disturbed' them from something else such as reading the paper or playing with their phones) - something which is quite a surprise as I normally regard Thailand as having the best + friendliest hospitality in the region.
Other major complaints with this place included :
- Breakfast buffet was well below standard - food was unfresh/stale and cold - basically impossible to get pancakes or eggs which weren't cold to warm (forget hot) - substantially worse than just about every other Thai/Malay and Indo hotel we'd stayed at. Food was obviously prepared 1-many days before and stuck in the fridge - most unusual and disappointing.
- Overpriced and limited internet over $100 per week and you have to pay this amount for not only each and every device - but if you want wireless (out of room) + wired (in room) you must pay twice. My Email servers were 'blocked' and took 3 days of complaints to get it fixed (after level 1 tech staff refused to escalate it until then).
- Thoroughly misleading advertising indicated it was a 'beach resort' when in fact Hilton did not actually own or exist on the beach (there was a main road in between hotel and shoreline) - which meant there was no towels/seats etc available and you had to pay exhorbitant rates to another company to 'rent' a banana lounge or shade (ie. 200 baht per person per sitting).
- Annoyingly slow and cumbersome shuttle bus system to get around - even though we hired a car - we weren't allowed to park it anywhere near room - and would take up to 15-20 minutes to actually get between our room and the car park.
- As per above - mostly everything in hotel was horrendously overpriced and sub-standard (only positive being our room was actually quite good - although that was after we'd paid a huge premium for upgrade to junior suite).

There's loads of OTHER great accommodation in Phuket where they actually seem to want and appreciate your business - so give this one a miss.

Room Tip: Junior Suites are quite good.

Ok, so if you're going to Phuket to stay in a resort and spend all your time (and money) there, then maybe this is your place.

The issue is that this place is HUGE. You need to be prepared to walk a lot to get anywhere. The place offers a lot of nice amenity however so no complaints there.

A majority of the rooms dont face the sea so its like staying at any other part of Phuket with the hill view. The resort is practically beachfront (even though there is a road in the middle) and Karon beach is nice and clean, with adequate shacks and food/massage spots on the beach itself.

In the end this may be a good place with kids and all that but its more suited for conventions. There was a huge Chinese delegation (I'm talking 500+ people) when I stayed although the plus of such a large resort is that they were all spread to different parts, for instance, across all 3 pools.

Room Tip: Get access to the Panorama lounge, the view is excellent. Or stay on levels 9+ in the Lotus Wing to...

As you have outlined, Karon Beach is indeed a public beach with easy access from the hotel by crossing the beachfront road and our security guard is always on standby to assist our guests to cross the road 24 hours a day. As an alternative for our hotel guests, we have 3 pools where one of them overlooks the ocean and they are fully equipped with umbrellas and sun loungers where our guests can enjoy swimming in different environments. Garden Pool, which is a family friendly pool with plenty of shade and equipped with a waterslide for children. Seafarer Pool is also a tranquility pool for people to relax.

We thank you for your comments on our property which is widely spread and capable provide services and facilities to support both leisure and business travelers with large functions.

A concrete jungle set in beautiful grounds. This hotel does not reach its full potential . Breakfast is very disappointing. Rooms are a good size but lack the luxury you would expect.
