Clarion Suites Senart Paris Sud
Ranked #2 of 2 Hotels in Lieusaint
Reviewed 10 January 2010

I frequently travel to this area on business. I have stayed in many of the area hotels (3 in Fontainebleau, 1 in Barbizon, 1 other in Senart/St Pierre du Perray). You can see my other reviews through my username. In the last 4 years I have stayed in these hotels a total of about 20 times.

I have now stayed in the Clarion 4 times in 2009, each time for 2-4 nights. I emphasize this description is for the standard room: The rooms are enormous even by US standards. They are all suites comprising a bedroom/living area, a superb bathroom, a separate toilet and a kitchen with fridge, microwave and kettle. If you imagine a King bed you would still have enough room for 4 more beds in the main room. In the sitting area you have a large sofa and large coffee table, and a small desk and chair for working. In the bathroom there is a fantastic enormous shower with 2 shower heads (one fixed and one on a flex hose), plus the horizontal heads that direct water on your entire body. In the bathroom there is also a full tub and a vanity with 2 basins. Plus a hairdryer, generous amenities (shampoo, etc) and plenty of fluffy towels. There are also even larger suites available, which are literally double the size of a normal suite. I have been in one of those, and there was a conference table big enough to seat 15 people comfortably.

There is free internet (wired). Just ask at the front desk and they will give you a cable and a sheet with a username and password.

The restaurant is good with some imaginative food although not a long list of options. The bar is good and you can also eat at the bar if you like. There is a small spa and a fitness center.

If this area is convenient for you, I recommend this hotel highly. I saw another review that implied they were told this was 35-40 minutes from the city. That is certainly true if you have a car but it would be inconvenient to stay here if you were intending to be in the city. You can however reach this location by public transport if you are determined. Closest RER is Lieusaint-Moissy which is 3.1km from the hotel, so you would need a cab which are usually not available except by advance arrangement. It takes almost exactly 60 minutes to drive here from CDG. On the other hand, If you have a morning flight back out of CDG it is better to stay at the airport the night before, due to am traffic flowing heavily in that direction. The drive will be more like 2 hours at that time.

The Carre Senart mall is walking distance away (10-15 minutes) with excellent shopping. Also in walking distance (5 minutes) is the bar/restaurant Au Bureau which is decorated like an English Pub, very cosy, variety of draft beers, good food. Next to the pub is a Tex-Mex restaurant and an Italian restaurant. I have eaten at all 3 of these places and recommend them all for good food at very reasonable prices (and much more extensive menus than the hotel.) There is also a bowling alley in walking distance.

Prices in 2009 were usually 90 - 110 euro. Excellent value.

In summary, if this is your location, this should be your hotel.

We checked into your 4-star hotel for 2 nights from 30 December 2009. On the first night, we were highly impressed with the facilities. On the 2nd night, after returning from our night out at Eiffel Tower to welcome the New Year, we returned to the hotel. We were very tired and hoped to have a drink in our room before going to bed. To our great disappointment, our kettle had been confiscated from the room and there were no sachets of tea or coffee. The toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion) were not replenished. It seems to me that the hotel management assumed that the guests would not be taking shower or having any drink after returning to the room after midnight. They also took for granted that, after all, we would be checking out the next day so there was no need to provide any service at all.

First let me say it was not all the hotel fault. Where I booked the Hotel via choice group who runs it hotel they said it the 25 minutes from euro disney and 35 40 to central paris.
I call to say around 7 out flight had arrive late the guy said no problem when you get to the train station just call and the free bus would some get you.
I arrive there at about 12, call the hotel for about an hour no answer when at 1am some one answered he said he could not help me at the bus was not running any more. I asked for a cab number he said he didn't know one, He than said he was the only one there and he could not help me.
I asked for the number of the police to see if i could get a lift from the train station to the hotel. I was told to look in a phone book.
Now please bear in mind i have my son of 3 years old and sister of 16 with me in a country we have never been to before, we are at a train station that is now empty of any one but us with no security guard. It is now 3am in the morning and we are still there. When the staff member of this hotel finally looks for a number for a cab. I'm told by the cabby machine that they one work until 130am and try again at 630am.

I had to put my son in the suitcase to keep him warm.

would I recommend this hotel not if it was the only one in paris and they where going to pay me a million dollars to do so.
not if it was going to save my life.
not ever

The rooms are clean and good, but because of the very poor service (people at the front desk are unfriendly and full of excuses) we found the stay to be rather unpleasant. The general manager of the hotel is a nice man, and tries to be helpful, but he is not someone you deal with unless there is a serious problem. We would not stay at his hotel.
