We stayed at Villareal Heights for almost 1 week before Christmas and had one of our best family vacations. Phil and Jo welcomed us like we were family. We booked a mountainview suite for me and my husband and our 2 girls. Our 5 year old and 2 year old felt right at home as soon as we got inside the room. Our 5 year old immediately told us, " this is not a hotel mom. It looks like a house". The room is very clean and decorated very nicely. It had a king size bed and really comfortable beddings and mattress. It is very comparable to staying in a 5 star rating hotel. Phil had a single bed for our daughter to sleep in and our girls love the comfortable couch .We love that the room had a TV and DVD player with surround sound for the times our girls want to watch movies. The free WIFI internet was a big plus for us. The kitchen had a big refrigerator and microwave. Our room also had a big closet for all our clothes and came with a safety deposit box. The bathroom is very clean and spacious.

Phil and Jo were so nice to give us tips where to go and where to eat. They booked all our tours and made sure we got a good value for our money.

Overall, if we ever go back to Phuket, we would email Phil and Jo right away and stay at Villareal Heights and we would recommend all our friends to stay there.

If you go to Phuket, its worth it to go to Paradise Beach. We love it there. We had a daytrip at Phi Phi island and it was beautiful and breathtaking. The elephant trekking and elephant feeding was fun.

Hope we can visit Phuket again. Thanks Phil, Jo, PJ and Dobbie for welcoming us! Hope to see you all soon!

We stayed at Villareal Heights around christmas for 4 nights. Our airport pick-up was pre-arranged bij Phil, the owner. The welcome at the hotel was very nice, thanks again to said Phil and his wife, Jo. We had 2 rooms at the top floor which were clean and spacious, with a nice view as a bonus. Broadband WiFi was hassle-free. A large, well stocked fridge, which you could replenish yourself according to your drinking habits was part of the equipment.
The rooms had a balcony where I could have a smoke if necessary.
All in al, we had a wonderful stay and Villareal Heights turned out to be good value for money.

Phil and Jo are the most welcoming couple you will ever meet in Thailand. The guesthouse is just a short walk from the main area in Kata.
The room was great. Very clean, spacious, Wifi included which is always a plus.
Phil was generous with his time and gladly took us around to show us the nice places to go to and the nice restaurants. He couldn't have done anymore to make us feel welcome. Since Jo and I are both from the Philippines, it was nice to have a chat with her and to meet their gorgeous boy! Also missing my dog back in England, it was a delight to play with their dog, Dobbie.
When our planned trip was cancelled the last minute, Phil went out of his way to book us another trip early in the morning. It was truly appreciated.
We cant recommend them enough! Will truly stay with them anytime! It is worth going to Kata just to be able to stay with them! Truly a great place. All the best to Phil, Jo, PJ, and Dobbie.

Thanks to the overwhelmingly positive reviews on Trip Advisor, we had the tremendous pleasure of staying at the Villareal Heights for four nights in late December 2010.

This is not so much a review of VH but a sincere note of gratitude to Phil and Jo for generously opening their home to us. Yes VH was a great place to stay and the accommodations were exceptionally comfortable and clean, but it was Phil, Jo and PJ who ultimately made it one of the most enjoyable trips I've had in all my years of traveling. I'm sure there are an abundance of guest houses in Phuket that offer suitable accommodations, but I surely doubt any of its proprietors will welcome and look after you the way Phil and Jo did for us.

During our entire stay we were warmly received like old friends and treated like extended family. Phil went out of his way to shuttle us around the island, showing us the best places to relax and eat that were off the beaten path. He also helped us to book our day trips to the neighboring islands, and was even waiting outside for us one morning before 6 am to see us off! When one of our day trips didn't pan out the way we thought it would, because we spent more time driving around in a van than expected (which was not a big deal at all to us because we still had a lot of fun), Phil took it personally and demanded on our behalf that the tour operator refund some of our money back (they did). Phil and Jo were constantly looking after us to make sure we were doing ok, and it was always a great feeling to come home to both of them on the porch asking us how our day went.

Phil and Jo clearly love what they do and it shows in the way they go above and beyond to ensure that their guests are taken care of.

If you stay anywhere else you're missing out.

Thank you so much for having us Phil, Jo and PJ. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

David, Leslie and Janya

If u are reading this, then there is nothing much to read further except to go ahead and book your room with Phil and Joe.
On the first night that we arrived, a honeymoon cake specially ordered for us were waiting for us on the reception area, and everything went as sweet as ever from there. Hubby and I were not the beach-type, but that didnt stop us from enjoying Phuket then.

As many have mentioned, Phil and Joe will bring you around the island in the morning and we had our best American breakfast there. This is a very important trip for us, as we have done no research on where to go, what to do. Phil will guide us where to go and we went every single place that he has recommended.

On days that we refuse to leave the hotel, we indulge ourselves with tons and tons of movies recommended by Joe. The room is so comfortable that we find it difficult to leave the room at times for our daily activities. Hubby loves such slow days, where we find ourselves walking to the pad thai shop (super yummy!) and then to a convenience store for icecream.

While the hotel is not near the beach, it is very easy to let the taxi know where the hotel is. Ask Phil for the tip =)

Phil, Joe and of course the baby, made us feel so much at home, and the bond was so strong that we had invited them to our wedding banquet next March!

Back in SIngapore, we basically had pushed everyone we know who has no specific destination, to head to Phuket and stay in Villareal. I heard that there is a new wing soon, with pool and bigger villa for family stays.

Cant wait to see all of you again =)
