“Delightful seaside experience with all the trimmings!”

Visitors from north of the border might be nervous upon arrival down the dirt road of Calle 8, but once inside this well-appointed 4-level condo apartment (there's a cabana on the roof as well as the 3 bedrooms on the 2nd & 3rd floors) any misgivings will evaporate. The nice big pool is maintained daily, there is free WiFi and big new flat-screen TVs in two of the bedrooms, the kitchen is well appointed (except for no dishwasher, of course) and the sea is literally lapping at your doorstep -- at high tide it splashes against the tall wall on the edge of the patio.

Lie in the sun ans watch the gulls swoop down to grab a beakful of pool water "on the fly", wade out to the sandbar for a swim, or (if you're obsessed with fishing, like me) cast a jig into the deeper water beyond and catch ladyfish (good sport, but not for eating) and jack crevalle [el jurel] (fine to eat if you excise the blood streak down the centerline).

Take the $7 peso bus into Progreso to shop or eat in the tourist joints along the Malecon if that appeals, but be aware that the Progreso pier (the longest in the world, I hear!) services cruise ships almost daily, so the town has become a classic tourist trap. For food you are better off walking a few blocks inland from the casa and trying the delicious ceviche and/or deep-fried whole fish at one of the tiny family pescaderias in Chicxulub. Cheap!

The maintenance folks are attentive, friendly and accommodating; the owner is charming, helpful, talkative and responsible.

My wife and I stayed in the villa for 40 days, and each day we felt like we were in paradise!
It was one of the best vacations we ever had!
The villa was more beautiful than on the pictures, definitely decorated by the artist.
We loved the modern bedrooms with very comfortable beds, the luxery bathrooms. The beautiful country style kitchen was equipped with absolutely everything we needed, and had all new equipment.
The house was spotless. The pool and the patio around was cleaned every day.
The view from the balconies and from the palapa was magnificent.
It was such a pleasure to take a long walk on the beach and to swim in the warm sea.
The location of the house couldn’t be better. We didn’t need the car.
It was 5-15 minutes walk to the restaurants, farmer market, bakeries,
grocery stores, pharmacies. We could buy everything we needed in the village.
We bought fresh fish right on the beach from the fishermen, but it was much better to have it in the local restaurants.

We couldn’t say enough good things about the owners and the manager’s family
From the minute we made the reservation to our departure we felt like we were coming home, and our closest relatives were taking care of us!
Keith (one of the owners) met us at the airport, our kitchen was stuffed with the delicious food. Our departure flight was at 6AM; Keith came at 3:00 in the morning to take us to the airport.
We are very grateful to the owners and the manager’s family for everything they did to make our vacation fantastic!
We would like very much to come again to this place.

This place is very well kept; very clean and well maintained, right from the main level kitchen, dining room to the forth floor roof top palapa.
In the kitchen we were greeted with a welcome basket and some fridge items to use during our stay. The kitchen had everything we needed. Pots pans also a nice size stock pot that was perfect for our seafood boil.
The bedrooms all had there own bathroom and walk-in closet. In the bedroom bathrooms the girls were pampered with beautiful scented soaps if you wished to use them and little bottles of shampoo and conditioner. Good quality towels and face cloths ( I mention the face towels because most places do not have them) plus beach towels. Than up to the roof top to enjoy our 5 pm wine to watch the sunset and see the great views. This area was nicely constructed and good use of the roof top. The pool is cleaned regularly and night security came every night to turn on the outside lights and check things out. We all love this perfect gem. And we were so impressed by the extra homey touches that made our stay memorable.
