We were a group of 5 friends and this was an impromptu travel plan. We searched the web and found this resort attractive. We called up the resort and finalized everything with Mr. Shashi who sounded a very reasonable chap. We reached the place at 11:30 at night and found Mr. Shashi waiting for us on the road (there are not many signboards and it's very easy to miss). The resort is nice and rooms are spacious enough for 2 people. The good part is that since its new so it gives that feeling. We were given the top of the hill rooms ("tree houses"). The resort is on a hill side and the top of that hill is also part of the resort. You get excellent view of the valley and if the skies are clear, the snowclad Himalayan peaks are also visible. The food is also good. The resort is an excellent place to unwind and rest for 3-4 days.

Improvements: The access to the hotel is a 100 mtr walk which may be difficult for old people. Signboards to show the way to the resort (at night you can hardly see any).

Mr Shashi was very helpful in every way possible.

Ivy Green Resort is a newly constructed, luxury resort only 5minutes from Lansdowne. We spent four nights at the resort and we highly recommend it to anyone looking to escape the heat of Delhi.

The sleepy hill station of Lansdowne has few attractions and you can see them all in a couple of hours. Once that is out the way then you can head back to the resort to relax. Ivy Green offers you the opportunity to unwind and enjoy a break from the madness of everyday life. The owners were careful to build the resort around the pine trees (over 100) on the property. While all the rooms are different, they each have a balcony that either overlooks the forest or the valley. We spent many hours on the balcony, listening to the wind blow through the trees, and bird watching. Be sure to take your bird books with you as the forest is teeming with birdlife.

If you can drag yourselves out the very comfortable beds then we recommend heading up to the sunrise point which has a beautiful view of the valley behind the resort. If watching the sunrise isn’t your thing then relax on the sunset deck and watch the sun set instead.

We didn’t go to Lansdowne for shopping or sightseeing, we went to spend time in nature and since the resort is located on the border of a pine forest, a number of great hikes start right from the edge of the property.

Ivy Green is a real home away from home, the amenities are excellent and the fittings are top quality. Staying here is a luxurious experience and there is no doubt that no expense was spared in building and furnishing this resort.

Parking is available on the road (three minute walk to reception), don’t park opposite the neighbouring hotel (they will leave messages all over your windscreen). You won’t be able to refuel in Lansdowne so best to top up in Kotdwar. There is full cellphone reception and uninterrupted power supply at the resort.

During your stay you should make time to drive to Tarakeshwar Temple, the drive will take over an hour. The temple is located in a meadow, it is peaceful, quiet and easy to access.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ivy Green Resort and we will be heading back soon. This is a comfortable, quiet, family-owned and family-managed, which is well maintained and offers you everything you will need to relax and unwind in the mountains.
