“Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! Simply perfect for two! :)”
Reviewed 8 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Mum and I have just returned today, from Avalon Cottage and can honestly say that Peter and Isobel have created the perfect little haven, with every amenity that you could possibly want from a holiday cottage.
The decor is immaculate and tastefully done and the little touches, including a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits are lovely.
Everything we thought about was provided, including a dishwasher - not that we used it, as we ate out every day! The pub in the village does excellent food at a good price and the Barrington Boar, in Barrington Village also became a "regular" for us! :)
As others have said, the area has so many places to visit that you're spoilt for choice.
All in all a great place to stay to explore Somerset.
For those that are used to a strong WIFI signal be warned, you're in the countryside and as such the signal isn't what some may be used to, but it is more than acceptable for checking websites of all the amazing places to visit and also to make sure the sun is going to shine tomorrow....something that, apparently, it does a lot!

“A great place to stay”
Reviewed 13 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

A warm welcome from the owners, the property was well equipped with a very comfortable bed and a great shower.
The property is in a quiet location in a small village, the local pub/restaurant is a short walk away and has friendly staff who provide really good meals at reasonable prices. There are numerous National Trust places to visit very close by and also East Lambrook Manor Gardens which is well worth a visit.
A really good place to stay and we would be very happy to return.

“Immaculate, and very well equipped in an ideal location for garden visits”
Reviewed 7 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Avalon Cottage was perfect for us, as it is so close to a number of beautiful gardens, many National Trust, including Montacute House, Barrington Court, Tintinhuill and Lytes Cary Manor. In fact East Lambrook Manor garden is just five minutes walk away. We also visited Bath, one and a quarter hours, and Wells under an hour away, both very well worth a trip. The cottage itself is spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and very well equipped for a couple; the little conservatory was a very relaxing place to sit, and we enjoyed evening walks directly from the property on public footpaths through meadows covered in buttercups..

“Just perfect for two”
Reviewed 26 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Found this cottage last minute when we were invited to a surprise party. It was a perfect location for us to attend the party in the local pub and for us to catch up with old friends in the nearby area. The accommodation is well appointed, well equipped and very comfortable. The shower was great, plenty of hot water and powerful too. A good size, good quality bed made our stay great. As it is outside the village street lights it was great to see millions of stars because of the clear night. Absolutely no traffic noise whatsoever gave us a perfect sleep considering we had just flown in from a trip to India. Heating system was efficient and kept us snug. The only thing missing for us was a washing machine.
