“Beautiful and relaxing stay in paradise”
Reviewed 13 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

I went with 4 other friends and we stayed in 2 rooms, one with a kitchen, one without.
Both were lovely and spacious. The decks were perfect places to relax, especially the one with the hammock and lounge chairs! The lodge is extremely peaceful and quiet and you can snorkel right off the pier.
The food at a lot of the resorts was really over-priced and not very good, so we were glad to have the self-catering option.
Debra was extremely warm and accommodating and helped us arrange boat travel to the main island and activities.

Would love to go back again!

“Many memories were made.”
Reviewed 2 September 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We were blessed and fortunate to spend 2 weeks at "Paradise Lodge". We were a party of 10 with 6 children under the age of 13. It was a holiday for all of us full of adventure and new experiences. Travis was a wonderful host and someone that we all now consider a friend. He was wonderful with our children answering their many questions and organised day trips and other special touches for my son and myself who were celebrating our 13th and 40th birthdays. We all enjoyed Lilian and her family joining us around the bon fire and the kids afternoon soccer games. We all leave with our own memories of our stay at the Lodge and our adventures on Santo!
Thank you so much for welcoming us all and treating us like old friends.
Keep up the good work x

“Peace in Paradise”
Reviewed 20 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

This place is an absolute gem if you want peace and beautiful surroundings. Set on Aore Island, across the channel from the town of Luganville, there's no traffic and nobody walking past. With only one unit you have the place to ourself, with just the owners in the house next door. Access is by boat and the cheerful Sandy will ferry you across to the main island in five minutes in his longboat.

The owners, Dr Allen, Debra and their son Travis are the sort of people you hope to have as hosts when you book a place like this - friendly and knowledgeable with a genuine love for the place. They run a free medical clinic from the property for the local people and the money from the rental goes to support their efforts.

The unit is an absolute delight, very nicely fitted out with a luxurious feel and with a beautiful view over the channel back to Luganville. Be aware that it is self catering and you will need to provide all your own food, but the kitchen is well fitting out for cooking. There's a hob and BBQ, but no oven. The supermarkets and local markets have plenty of good quality fruit, vege and meat. Good fish was hard to find though.

I loved my time here and can recommend it to anyone wanting peace and tranquility. Don't come here if you like lots of people and evenings in the bar - this is not your sort of place.

“Paradise is just the right word for this place.”
Reviewed 24 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We have just returned from a week staying at Paradise Lodge with our two teenage children where we had an amazing time. It was good to be on Aore Island which has so much history and interest in itself, we needed more time to explore. The accommodation was very comfortable and user friendly, although the kitchen was a bit of a challenge to work it as it is very small. Travis, the owner's son looked after us and took us by a safe comfortable boat to explore Million Dollar Point and Tutuba Island where we were welcomed by Tom and his family and given a very humbling and genuine cultural experience i.e. meeting his family and sharing fruit with them beautifully prepared and presented, along with fresh floral wreaths. It was lovely and we recommend this. The Profke family are obviously much liked by the locals and are doing much to make their lives better in many ways. We enjoyed meeting with them and sharing their island with them for a week. Travis was very attentive and nothing too much trouble - a great asset to their business, remembering that this is a remote and third world part of the planet - it must take a lot of effort to keep the standard as high as they do.

Our son dived with Aore Adventure Dive and loved it - a professional well run dive company and again we recommend this. Aore Island Resort was looking a bit tired although it is convenient to cycle down for a coffee and a meal and a swim in their pool. Cycling is great around here, as is walking and exploring.
Highly recommend staying with the Profkes if you want to be doing things and great for children too. The sailing safaris they offer look fabulous - another time..... we will definitely be back.
