“Very nice b&b in a charming forest”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2012

The b&b is very well presented, rooms with own WC and shower very clean and nice taste.
We appreciated the fact that no tv is in the room: for once you want to relax with the sound of the nature.
Nice breakfast, very good jams and croissants.
It is at walking distance from the train station (about 500 m) and you have all the hiking paths nearby.
The host is a friendly and nice guy, willing to help and giving useful advices.
If we'll return to that part of Corsica (what a beautiful island) we'll definitely get back to Casa Alta.

we stayed here for 4 nights to explore the centre of Corsica and were really happy with the quality of the room, a reasonable size, clean and with a great view. The hotel has free wifi and the most important feature of Vincent, the owner, who gives great advice on walks, lends maps, books restaurants and gave some other guests lists to the start of some trails. He makes a great breakfast as well and it is served on a long table giving all the guests a chance to meet and talk.

Beautifully presented B&B. Vincent the host was very friendly and helpful. We were so pleased to be able to stay here and the breakfast was superb. We stayed at another hotel in the village (Hotel Laricci) on a different night: Casa Alta was so much better and cheaper.
Casa Alta is worth a detour just to stay there.

Our family room included one room with a double bed and space enough for our baby cot, a newly renovated bathroom and a room with two single beds perfect for kids. (Not to share with adults, it is no door between the rooms). Just a 30 mins drive from the pretty old town Corse. We had dinner at one of the local restaurants by the railway station - a 10 mins walk from the hotel (nothing impressing, but the food was decent). We had our little baby with us, but got to walk a couple of hours by the river towards one of the mountain tops close by, we started by the adventure center hut. Otherwise it is not a lot to do nearby. This is not a place you stay at for a long period of time unless you want to use it as a base for mountain trecking, but as a stopover it is really nice! English speaking host.

Room Tip: Family room at top floor is in good shape

We really enjoyed every aspect of Casa Alta and hope to make it back there someday. The location is just excellent with a beautiful view of the snow capped mountains. Just a 5 minute walk down the road takes you to the train station which has a really good qualify restaurant that serves up top quality local fair. Casa Alta's owner is also a pilot and he can fly to any of the major airports in Corsica to pick you up. Now, that is convenience and service.

Please try to make Casa Alta one of your stops in your travels. The inn will make you feel most comfortable and allow for great walks and hikes in the area.
