Having five nights to spend in Praslin, we needed a couple of choices other than the wonderful Lauriers buffet.
This is just a hut on the roadside, but after reading here we gave it a try.
Unfortunately, I regret my choice.
We knew about the rustic place, tiny, sandy floor and so, but we expected nice food and low prices.
We were the only ones that night. Menu choices are limited.
So we tried the menu, thinking about a multiple courses menu.
We were wrong, we had the usual single course with everything mashed inside.
Nothing different from other choices, and still at 20 € for a single plate.
Average food, average price, average (at best) setting.
And don't forget your lamp. You have to walk about 500m to the village, pitch black road.

The place is located on the side of the road, I must say it's pretty unique not only for the furniture but for the whole atmosphere. They also sell fresh fruits, so if you pass by remember to stop.

The food is good and fresh, portions are huge. I must say I am not too fond of Creole cuisine but definitely tasted good.
Waitress just should have smiled a little more, but I would definitely go back

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel manager,we were picked up and returned to our hotel and upon arriving were somewhat taken aback by the surroundings. The restaurant is basic, basically a wooden hut without windows and a sandy floor and simple table and chairs, not a good start, but then we ordered our meal and this is where the restaurant showed its true character, the food and service were excellent,I ordered a 350sr meal, which had, crab salad, curried chicken, and grilled fish, all cooked perfectly. We were so impressed that we again went for dinner two nights later and again we had a super meal, our thanks to Kevan and his family for two excellent meals and fond memories at an excellent price and we wish them every success in the future.P.S on the 2nd occasion we took our own wine, which did not cause a problem as they only served beer.

We went there on a Monday. There were only 3 dishes to choose from. The restaurant was rather empty. The food quality and the service were ok,

the most dinner options in Anse Volbert are rather pricey and not very authentic. Lakaz is reasonably priced (for Praslin standards), and very authentic.

They usually have only a few dinner options: grilled fish, prawns or chicken. Everything I tasted there was well prepared from fresh ingredients and tasty. Especially their mango salad, which is a typical Seychellois side dish, was mouthwatering.

Drink options are limited: either beer or water.

The service is rather typical seychellois: not very smiling, but good.
