The location was amazing, the views just fabulous. The room was very basic but that amount of time we spent in the room you didn't need anything fancy. Beds were comfy. Food was good, a wide range of choice, being a pastry chef in training the deserts were just fabulous.
The drinks were acceptable, would of like to seen more cocktails on the list but you can't have everything.
The sunbeds were easy enough to get hold of didn't have to rush down early in the morning.
The animation team were amazing, always happy and making us laugh, they didn't force you into activities.
Some evening entertainment want the greatest and some was just brilliant but you cant please everyone each night.
The Mini market within the hotel was amazing, literally sold everything we needed.
The Olives a la Carte restaurant was amazing a must do. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel staff were all so friendly and will always help if they can.
Really enjoyed this hotel, stunning views around the gardens and surrounding areas. Drive from the airport was very tiring but it was worth it in the end.
Thank You Mare blue really enjoyed my stay, will be bringing the family soon.

Several of the previous reviews are accurate food is 4 out of 10, staff are surly and find it hard to smile and the hotel seems hell bent on squeezing every penny they can out of the punter even charging 3 euros for a hours internet not good enough this is year 2016!

Mozzies are a real problem so please be prepared, you will need to be covered in repellant.

Watch out also for the salad food that is left out for 3 hrs plus without cooling they place things like mussels in the salad and I'm sure that's where I got my dodgy stomach from.

The drinks are poor, we spent most of our time in the lovely pyramid bar down the road through the metal gates (to keep the punters in !) turn right at the sign to exclusive not inclusive.

In summary the hotel reminded me of 3 star hotels I went to in the 1980s I recommend paying £400 extra and go to a smaller proper 4 star hotel that gives good service to the customer.

Me and my partner stayed at this lovely hotel from 9th to 16th of September and if you're after a totally relaxing, non adventurous holiday, I can wholeheartedly recommend this place.

I would however note that both my partner and I are in our mid-late 20's, and apart from a handful of other guests, we were the youngest there by a considerable distance! I'd hazard a guess and say 60ish was the average age.

The hotel itself is a large complex with around 20ish blocks of rooms, all named after James Bond hero's or villain's, we were in 'M' and lucky enough to have a refurbished room. They aren't all refurbished in that block however, after having a sneaky nosy through the door as the maid was resetting the room next door for the next guests, it was somewhat outdated. The maid service was great, the room and bathroom was always left very clean after their visit. Although I was woken up at 7am on the morning of departure by a maid coming into our room!

The food was more than acceptable. Breakfast was very good, with continental style toast, preserves, yoghurt and granola daily. Hot croissants and danishes too. There was a mixture of cereals, eggs (fried, scrambled, egg white omelette and regular omlette) bacon (usually a little soggy and always smoked), small Frankfurter style sausages and grilled tomatoes every day.

Lunch and dinner was served with a large variety of breads and cold cut hams, salad (although this didn't always look very appealing, slightly browned carrot and lettuce) cheese (cheddar and feta were the only two options), fresh watermelon chunks were available every day. There was a pasta bar at dinner with usually a tomato/marinara style sauce and spaghetti, and the main buffet stand having offerings like chips, chicken thighs, meatballs and fish cooked in a sauce and lots of roasted vegetables, usually cooked in a tomato style sauce but not always. The kids buffet was usually things like chicken nuggets, fish fingers and chips. There was always variation from day to day, lunch to dinner, but if you're a particularly picky eater, it might get repetitive. I would have liked to see more chicken breasts. All the meat on offer was either on the bone or turkey, which tasted somewhat reconstructed.

The dessert bar was good, 4-5 different flavour ice creams, although they all mostly tasted like tuttifruitty! There was usually jelly, creme caramel, cream and sponge cake and petit fours style puddings, like mini chocolate tortes. All in all very enjoyable.

The pool areas were very well maintained. The relax pool where we spent the majority of our time was lovely and quiet, no children or music were permitted and the whole area felt very serene, pool closest to reception. There were plenty of sun beds available whatever time you ventured down. Possibly due to our visit being out of school holidays. The snack bar at the bottom pool also served lunch if you didn't fancy walking up the hill!

We didn't visit Olive's restaurant but the pizza bar (you need to book at reception, but all but the wine is included on all inclusive) was very good.

The drinks were quite good with the house wine becoming more palatable with a dash of the lemonade also on offer. There is no cider at all on offer on all inclusive, however ciders such as kopperberg were available for purchase. The cocktails on offer were very tasty. Very basic in their construction but tasty none the less. There was usually a 'cocktail of the day' on offer at €3 each. The frozen lemon daiquiri was very good.

The location of the hotel was the one draw back for me. It's located at the very top of the island, so far removed from civilization you're almost forced to go on excursions to see something different! There is a shuttle bus that runs at regular intervals from reception for €5 each way.

The pyramid bar at the bottom is okay, drinks are reasonable, the atmosphere definitely more suited to our age group. There is also mini golf and Ho karting available for children.

We didn't spend much time watching the evenings entertainers, not really our thing to be honest, but the bits we did see, the staff were constantly on it! They were great, full of energy! I would recommend eating dinner early if you'd like to get a seat for the entertainment. We usually ate around 8:45pm and by the time we'd finished and walked to the bottom, there were no free tables or chairs anywhere!

All in all, I probably wouldn't return here, just because it's too far removed for us, but this is just down to our preferences. Put the hotel in the middle of corfu town and we'd be back every year! We did, however, very much enjoy our stay here at Mareblue Beach and would recommend it to anyone looking for a totally relaxed, 'I want to spend all week by the pool' kind of holiday.
