This cottage was absolutely fabulous. It was just what we were looking for, it was quiet, secluded and so peaceful. Thank you to Mags and Ian for their hospitality.

“Superb Yet Again!”
Reviewed 7 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This was our third visit to Lemon Tree Cottage and it never fails to deliver peace and tranquility. The owners are great hosts and simply cannot do too much to help you. The facilities of the cottage are first class with every possible requirement catered for and even those that you may not necessarily want - (who wants to wash and iron on holiday !!!). The cottage is up in the hills and therefore, you do need a car to enable you to visit the countryside or even travel to the nearest town for a meal. Nevertheless, if what you are looking for is peace and quiet with great views over the countryside, this is the place for you!
Simply Perfect!

“Peace and tranquility”
Reviewed 15 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Booked Lemontree cottage as a surprise for my partner as it was our 5th anniversary.
Car hire is most definitely advised.
Lemontree cottage is set up in the hills in the quiet hamlet of Cova Da Muda approximately 35 minutes drive from Faro airport.
Mags and Ian were there to welcome us and they are great hosts and very helpful.
We had a delicious welcome pack upon arrival - bread, cheese, milk, fruit, wine and beer plus a chilled bottle of bubbly for our anniversary which we enjoyed in the hot tub.
For us lemontree cottage was just a little bit too "out of the way" but take nothing away from this beautiful cottage as it so peaceful and idyllic.
It comes with everything you need for a self catering holiday that you want for nothing.
The swimming pool was used everyday but opted not pay for the pool heating but found it was warm enough to swim in.
We visited Loule market, Vilamoura and Quarteira whilst there and can highly recommend going to these places.

“Lovely Lemon Tree”

Arriving at the cottage around 7pm and too late to make the shops, how wonderful to be greeted by Ian and Mags with a mini-hamper of wine, water, beer, bread, ham, cheese, eggs and onions, and a basket of fruit, taking care of supper and breakfast until we could get some provisions in from one of three supermarkets in Sao Bras. The cottage is set up in a tiny quiet hamlet in the hills about 15 mins drive from the town so a car is very much desirable, although Carlos the taxi driver (speaks perfect English) was on hand a couple of evenings to take us into town for 10 Euros each way, where there are a handful of restaurants and bars, quiet though they were in March. A (steep) walk through the beautiful hills wooded with cork trees can take you to the local cafe at Alportel for ultra-cheap coffee or a beer, otherwise the quiet coast and stunning islands of the eastern Algarve are about 40 minutes in the car. Of course you dont have to go out at all, the cottage has everything you need for cooking or a barbecue, you have an outside terrace with pool (just about bearable for a TOUGH GUY in March), a hot tub and upper level terrace with barbecue space where you can sit on the swing chair and stare at the stars at night, listening to the owls and crickets, with a slice of freshly picked lemon in your drink. After we unfortunately fell through fabric on the chair, Mags and Ian replaced it with a new one the very next day. What a fantastic job they have done, and what great hosts they are, the cottage was spotless and came complete with beach accessories that you are free to use for the week. There was no rush for us to check out on the final day which made it so much easier. An amazing stay in a wonderful spot, very much recommended.

“A car a must,...... but brilliant location with fantastic views”
Reviewed 30 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Where to start, The instructions given to us as to the location was a doddle to find with some good navigating, we arrived just after lunchtime in the mountains and were greeted warmly by our hosts Ian and Mag's. Some steps up to the cottage, from the area you park your car so beware. As we entered this property, ''it is as it portrays'' ''in everyway''.....from the facilities available and provided, i.e., all kitchen equipment, games, books, picnic items, towels, beer in the fridge, bottled water, to the views, comfy double bed, the location, the cockerel on a morning, and the serenity, the stars at night, and the fantastic welcome pack, which was most appreciated..........Attention to detail is amazing and so thoughtful, our hosts were available if needed. The fabulous swimming pool, Jacuzzi and upper area (which has quite steep steps) for the barbecue were enjoyed despite changeable weather.....This remote location may not suit everyone, but it is a brilliant retreat and location for those that don't want the ''tourist life'', Local supermarkets and restaurant's are but a short drive away..........We could not fault our time at the cottage, and thank our hosts ''most sincerely'' for a wonderful stay... Will highly recommend.....
