We visited in october 1/2 term. There were 10 of us altogether, ranging from 10 up to 70. We all booked separately (as it was cheaper) & so we werent all booked in as one party. I emailed the hotel a few days before we arrived & they put us in rooms on the same corridor & sat us together at mealtimes (when they could). The hotel was lovely and clean, the entertainment was fab, especially for my 11 year old daughter! She loved the dancing. We were there over halloween and the whole staff worked their little socks off to decorate and put on amazing entertainment, not just in the melody bar, but in the dining room too! Very spooky! The food was ok, some nights it wasnt the best menu, but we tried new food! The hotel was just full enough for us, not too crowded, until the Spanish arrived. We have never met such rude people. They literally took over the place, one even physically moved my friend to one side as she was getting her food! They moved tables around in the restaurant, much to the waitress’s disgust! No thought for any other residents. Disgraceful. They arrived friday and luckily had buggered off by sunday!! Anyway, back to the hotel.... we had an issue with our fridge a couple of days in. We reported it & within a couple of hours we had a new fridge in the room. Nothing was too much hassle for the staff. The daytime entertainment was great & we did archery, boules, water polo & volleyball, cocktail workshop, step & body balance. We also visited the gym. The drinks were great, unfortunate that they wouldnt allow glasses in the melody bar though & we spent most of the holiday drinking out of plastic cups. Can recommend the sangria! The pool & water park are smashing (if a little cold!!) We had fun at Clube Humbria. We havent been to Portugal before, but we would go again. The people are very friendly & the places we visited (we hired a couple of cars) were lovely. Enjoy. Thank you to all the staff, hope you all have a lovely break now the hotel has closed for the season!
