If you are looking for a relaxing hotel with fabulous food and accommodation then the Adriana Beach Hotel is perfect! If you want to be near the noise and bustle of Albufeira then probably best to look elsewhere.
The location is amazing if you want some peace and quiet ......lovely spacious lawns with plenty of sunbeds. Two swimming pools - and a private stairway down to the beach ....again with plenty of sun-loungers (and no need for the morning rush to reserve a space!)
It is possible to walk the length of the beach to Villamoura in about a 40 minute stroll or the opposite direction towards Albufeira town. Wonderful views on a breath-taking beach - what more could you ask for on a holiday. The sea was warm and inviting and the constant breeze meant you could sunbathe without the oppressive heat found in other holiday resorts.
The steps down to the beach have been well documented and photographed - but they are stable and should not be a problem unless you are elderly or have walking difficulties. I am in my 50's and managed them without any difficulty.
The food in this hotel was fabulous. We chose to eat in the Grill whenever possible (but you do have to book beforehand) It was very similar to eating in Bem Brasil, but without the hefty price tag...... several meats served on long skewers and carved at your table by friendly staff. A great night out! The other restaurant was also good quality- plenty of choice of meats, fish/seafood and a good selection of deserts. I particularly enjoyed the champagne breakfasts.... a nice indulgent touch.
The rooms are fabulous - we were particularly lucky as we were upgraded to a suite with our own fully fitted kitchen, lounge and TWO bathrooms - we felt quite spoilt. From talking to other guests, it seems most of the rooms were quiet and comfortable. Although there were the usual gripes about the lack of English TV, but you don't really want to watch TV on holiday do you??
The location is a bit remote ...and if you wanted to travel outside in the evening - you would need to book a taxi at reception as there was nowhere within walking distance. In saying that, it was only €13 to the 'strip' and €15 to the Old Town, so not too bad! This is what we chose to do as the evening entertainment (as in the case of most All Inc hotels) was a bit dull. In saying that, the Entertainment Staff worked tirelessly and always managed to get everyone up dancing.
We travelled in September and were blessed with fabulous sunshine every day- although in the evenings, a jacket or cardigan is definitely needed.
All in all, a fabulous hotel - and one where we intend to visit again - next time for longer!!
