Our family (2 kids, wife and myself) stayed in hotel Lavanda for 9 days in August 2016. We asked for a room first row to the sea near the pool, with no extra payment. After reading reviews we expected room to be small for 4 of us, but it was sufficiently large. Some details were in need of fixing (toilet didn't flush properly, doors made noise, AC needed fixing), but genitor was always available and solved such problems in no time. Balcony was large and we enjoyed spending evenings there in peace and quiet. Food in restaurant was very tasty, although choice was not always broad (one soup - delicious every time!, 4-5 main dishes and sides, a few desserts). Free drinks during diner (juices, beer, wine) and breakfast. Children enjoyed playing in wooden castle (playground) between hotels Lavanda and Maxim. Nature here is fascinating. I have never heard so many crickets in one place. The Sea is cristal clear everywhere along island. Beach in front of hotel is rocky, 10 min walk will lead you to pebbly beach in nearby cove. Best beaches are very near by car (Sakarun 5 min, Veli rat 15 min, Veli žal 20 min). If you enjoy scenic views try driving the road to south of island (Sali or Telašćica). All in all, beautiful island, very nice small fisherman village Božava, good hotel for decent price. Hotel is not new or luxurious, but we found it very cosy. We enjoyed and will come again for sure.

Room Tip: rooms closest to sea - less walk, upper rooms - excellent views

Interesting hotel that should be improved!
Hard to say it is bad, since rooms are very good and balconies are fine.
Also, very good hotel restaurant for breakfast and dinner.
However, no real hotel beach (and not refurbished) and no parking (stairs for transfer) should be mentioned.
Hotel is not suitable for people in wheelchairs.
This hotel is located in the park and there is about 5 km hiking path by the sea with several empty beaches and a deserted army submarin base in dig into the rock!!
4 points just is slighty overrated but the location and potential is for 5 once it is corrected ( parking , lift, beach)

The search for hotels on this island was a bit difficult. I heard so much about sakarun beach and it really is worth going this direction for that reason alone.
The catamaran will first visit 3 other islands (fun) and then you get to Bozava. In Bozava there is a hotel group - look on the website for Hoteli Bozava dot hr.
4 buildings are grouped together, all from the same owner. When we tried to book maxim building, the most luxurious one, or compare prices for any other date on the booking dot com website there never seems to be availability, so either that hotel is fully booked throughout the whole season or something is wrong.
That pool looks nice, but it stank one night we walked past.
We stayed in Lavanda next to it. You're not allowed to visit the Maxim pool, we were told, only the Lavanda pool.
Agava and Mirta buildings are in between a bit more up hill, but in the same park.

Lavanda guests are 50+ And mainly local in end of June - which is totally fine of course and quiet. But maybe that's why there are not many reviews?

The breakfast was edible, but the selection of fruit minimal and quality is quite low. There are no name cards indicating what it is, so scrambled eggs was mixed with cheese for example, maybe good to know if you're intolerant. The dinner also lacked indication, which resulted in a couple of mishaps (beef turned out to be liver). The quality of wine was also just local wine, maybe fine, but not for more than one night.

The good things are: sit by the rocks, to enjoy the sunset. Enjoy the private balcony with sea view. Enjoy the beach with the train provided (honestly don't try to walk it's hilly!). There is a mini fridge to keep drinks cool, so bring some drinks.
In the harbour (3 min walk) thre are actually 5 restaurants so it's not necessary to go half board if you don't want to.
We thought there would be no wifi, but the reception area does have access.

Room Tip: You need to be strong to carry your bags to higher floors- no elevator

We stayed here for 2 nights in July.
The location is really nice, a short(ish) walk from where the boat docks. Nice views of the sea from the grounds of the hotel.
The rooms were quite tired, the expected double bed consisted of 2 beds together. The toilet didn't flush properly so we had to take it apart and manually stop it from refilling and making noise (then it woke us up in the night anyway). There was no shower gel in the shower for the duration of our stay, so it wasn't checked when the room was 'made-up' and still not when we asked for it to be refilled. Nothing a major thing but indicative of the type of service there. When we arrived there was no offer to take us to our room just pointed in the direction of where it was (it wasn't, it was actually a different route).
We had the half-board option. Breakfast was good enough, various options to choose from, hot and cold. Dinner was pretty standard all-inc food, couple of different meats, chips and some over-boiled veg. Free wine and beer with dinner but no coffee (only with breakfast).
The pool was ok, and there was the usual issue of guests 'reserving' sunbeds early with their towels.

We stayed in the hotel for one week. Hotel is actaully divided in few buldings and reception desk is in separate bulding just cross the restaurant.
Hotel is slightly refreshed but this is still 3* hotel so those one who looks for some luxury should avoid this hotel. Rooms are nice, not big, with AC, furniture is modest.
If you want to watch TV keep on mind that TV is not lcd with small screen (30cm). I don't know is there bigger TV in other rooms.

Position of the hotel is great, in the middle of the pine forest, in the shadow. In front of the hotel is small swiming pool, mostly for the children.
Very good fact is that all around you is calm, there is no noise, you can sleep very good.

Food in the restaruant is fine. We had half board (breakfast and dinner). For breakfast you can choose eggs, sausages, salami, chees, creams, butter, nutela, cereali, free coffie, tea, milk and other drinks.
For dinner you have mostly 3 main dishes and 3 side dishes to shoose. You can also find cold salat, fresh salat, fruits, desert. Drinks are also free. Beer and vine are free too.

Everyday small train is driving to the famous Sakarun beach. The drive takes 20min.
Ticket is 15kn (approx 2 euros) for one person in one direction. Small children don't pay the ticket.

You can swim below hotel where is the place with chairs. To enter in the sea you need to use ladder or jump in the water.
Less than 5-10min by walk there is one more small gravel beach, good for children.

I advice you to use car and discover other nice beaches at the island such as already mentioned Sakarun, Veli zal (gravel beach), Veli rat (stone beach).

If you can you MUST visit national park Telascica.

Room Tip: Sometimes you will face problem with car parking. There is no official parking but you park car in the forest, under the trees. Good thing is that the car is in shadow.
