“A little gem!”

Staying at the Villa Petalutha (Corfu) was to be the second part of our honeymoon and we are extemely happy that we spotted this little gem on the Owners Direct website. Very simply the week was a fantastic way to relax & unwind after all the rushing round pre-wedding!!

Debbie & David (villa owners) have made the villa rental high spec, picteresque, affordable, accomodating & easy to book, for example:

- Booking via email with Debbie: very simple, quick turnarounds on email, with all the necessary details provided at each stage
- Getting from the airport (by Corfu Town) to the villa (outside Spartilas): Debbie provided a brilliant set of directions (with pictures along the route!) which made it easy for us to get to the villa in the dark, in a foreign country on the wrong side of the road! The trip is about an hour - half of which is taken up going through Spartilas (nearest town to villa) as there are lots of hairpin bends
- The villa itself: immaculately looked after with everything you could need from Sky, DVDs, CDs, quality kitchenware, books, and the most informative ringbinder folder with all the information you need (activities on the island / how the household machines work / maps etc). The villa is wonderfully secluded and private and yet it only takes 20 mins (down the hairpin bends) to get to Ipsos town with restaurants, beach, supermarket etc. Because of its position the views from the villa are simply breathtaking. The infinity pool is well looked after by Apostolis (the villa manager) who speaks very good english & came every other day, & the 2 lovely ladies who do the weekly clean (not much english but very smiley & superb at sign language :-)
- Size of the villa: the villa felt extremely spacious for 2 honeymooners, and would comfortably fit 2/3 couples (with or without children) very happily. Because of the layout it would be possible to be both sociable & have private time whether it be by the pool, in the living room, on the roof terrace, on the balcony just outside your bedroom, or even up by the lookout point beyond the pool.

The weather was lovely for us and so we were very happy vegging out by the pool most days (the reason we went!), although there is plenty to do round the island and all easy to reach with a car. Hiring a car is essential to get about and the very last bit of the drive up the driveway to the villa's gates is pretty steep - but both myself and my husband managed it fine.

Best restaurant we found was Agnadio's in Spartilas town - the waiters / owner are very firendly and the food was excellent! So much so that we returned there a couple of times in the week.

We wish Debbie & David all the best for continued success for the villa rentals, and anytime we will be returning to Corfu (which we would be happy to do on the strength of this visit) we would gladly be a returning customer we were that happy with our stay.
