The island is very touristy, busy and the other hotels in the cities have no privacy, this is quite the opposite.

The hotel is located South of the island in the middle of nowhere which was perfect, but it does mean you will need to hire a car (do not be silly and go for an atv. it's not suitable).

You can drive anywhere pretty quickly and this hotel is great base to do that, so you can have a busy day out and come home to peace and quiet.

The hotel staff are excellent and really friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

it's a shame I couldn't give this 5 star rating as everything was perfect apart from the food. breakfast was average but nothing to complain about. The issue was the food provided for dinner, it was terrible. Granted you have a car and would dine out each evening for amazing food available everywhere less then 10min drive. The restaurant is empty each night, but we dined a couple of times in the hotel, since we were a little tired and wanted a drink, but both times was a disaster. The menu was small and basic so I'm unclear how they could provide such bad food, but that was only down side, not an issue with a car and so many restaurant on The island.

The hotel is well located, near a bus stop that Takes you directly to Thira and Oia. It's a classical greek white structure with renovated rooms. I tried two different rooms, a classical one and a superior one with Caldera view. They were both silent, well furnished and comfortable. The breakfast is good, the restaurant too. Hear you can ask for typical greek dishes or for an american burger. The staff is really polite and helpful. Outside there is a small and nice pool patio where you can seat and enjoy the view.

Room tip: All the rooms available are silent. The best are the ones in front of Caldera.

This sis a lovely hotel which gains great value in its distance from the busy tourist centre but you loose nothing of the caldera view. Absolutely awesome service from the whole staff, especially Alexandra who help us with booking our volcano tour, Taxi’s, travel plans and sorting out a Long standing flight change for us.
The breakfast was particularly heartfelt where they had specifically sourced gluten free cereal and bread for my family. This was the only hotel in our two week GREEK tour which really tried hard to source outside products. The other place was on the other end of Greece and they cooked for us. Beautiful spread of food. Excellent sheets and bed. The showers continue to baffle me but this was the typical cave house style free formed shower screen.
This place was really clean, feels solid and cosy for our springtime weather.
TOP points, food, beds, and the view. Well worth it.

Goulielmos Hotel is a small, family-run establishment with an absolutely stunning view of the caldera. If you prefer quieter, not too crowded areas, then this area is the place to stay at. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean and quite small, but as a couple we loved it. The famous Akrotiri ruins and the Red Beach are quite close to the hotel, not more than 10-15 minutes away.
