This hotel claims 4 star status and should be capable of it but appears to be run by an accountant rather than a hospitality professional which lets it down badly.
1. We arrived in Ecija, the frying pan of Spain, just after noon thinking of a swim in their pool to escape the heat. We were told in very poor English that "no possible to check in before 2pm" even though the rooms were likely ready.
2. We called back just after 2pm to a locked front door and had to wave around the front windows to attract attention. Virtually no English spoken by receptionist who escorted us to our room in almost total darkness. Even the reception area had no lighting. If I had not used my phone torch later we would never have found the room again. We were instructed "no touch aircon" so we did as 24 degrees was hotter than we wanted!
3. Only one access card offered so no chance of leaving one card in the room to keep it cool when we were out.
4.Gave up trying to ask about car parking (which had been offered on Booking.com) and just left car on street.
5.No English language channel on room TV, all channels Spanish only. No room compendium advising on hotel services or meals offered. Consequently we went out for meals which were good.
6. There were several wifi points offered but the one that worked had a 14 random letter and digit code which was overly protective and confusing.

The room itself was good, clean and had good toiletries but the level of service is nowhere near that of a 4-star property. It was not cheap and was the most expensive 4-star hotel we stayed at in all Southern Spain.It was also the only one with no English speaker.
We were left with an impression of frugality which perhaps explains its apparent low occupancy even in July. Start thinking about service rather than saving cost!

Dear guest. We apologize for all the inconveniences you mention in your comment and for the experience you had with us. Although you mention no English is spoken by anybody in the hotel, we have 3 receptionist who speak English fluently.
We have to answer to some of your points:
1. Check-in time is 2pm because check-out time is noon, so we have to have time to clean the room the way we like it to be. If you say you arrived just after noon, it is normal the room was not ready at that time.
2. If the door was locked when you came back, it is probably because from time to time, when the door is not spotless clean one of the maids is cleaning it, but as soon as we see somebody is by the door, we open it. Room corridors have motion sensors for lights, but they go on as soon as you come near an area (it is part of our energetic policy), but the way you state it, it looks like there are no lights at all. Not fair. You can set up air con temperature any way you like, that's why controls are not blocked and can be easily manipulated by the guest.
3. Even though we only give one card per room at the time of check-in, you can ask for a copy any time you want and our reception staff will give it to you with no hesitation.
4. We do have a car parking service as offered in Booking.com. I have the feeling you had no time for our staff to explain to you the way to park and you left the car on the street.
5. We have BBC World programmed in our TVs, but it is not on DTT mode, so you just have to press the "source" button on the remote control. Information is written just below the TV as well as the Information and Services booklet in your room. The way I see it the previous guest took it as a souvenir (this happens often). I am sorry you had to go out for meals, because our Restaurant, as seen in previous opinions is really good (we appear in the Michelin Guide).
6. We have several WiFi points because we think nowadays WiFi is very important in a hotel, and many hotels, as you may know, have a very poor signal. The way we do it you get an excellent signal. Remember you only have to enter the code once.
We have to thank you for your comment on cleanliness and comfort which we think is one of the top reasons guests come more than once. We take our time to perfectly clean the rooms so you get that impression. July is low-season in this area but we cannot complain with our occupancy levels. They are usually higher than most hotels in the area. We also think our prices are very good in a 'value for money' sense. You can compare prices with other 4* hotels in the area and we are way cheaper than hotels of the same category in Córdoba or Seville.

Our third night on our Spanish odyssey and a night in what must be the darkest hotel I have ever stayed in. It was presumably out of season and whilst we were probably not the only guests, there cannot have been very many. I assume they kept the lights off or low to save power!
Our room was very nice but breakfast was very limited.

I've stayed at the hotel and I have no complaints, good internet (except at the restaurant), quiet, equipment is nice but its breakfast in my opinion is not at the level of a 4 start hotel. Other than that it is a great choice and will continue to use it on my travels.

Good hotel in Ecija and very confortable. Staff very nice. We had a problem because I phoned to ask for the swimming pool and when we arrived was not in good conditions. We used because was very hot weather and after they told us that they had to repair ... The should tell us this before... It was our decision to choose this hotel because has this swimming pool and the thing is that is closed...
Breakfast extra paying but nice..
Room very clean and nice

Our first time in Ecija and we really liked it.! The hotel was excellent although is not in the city center, staff are very friendly, helpful, so kind. Great breakfast made with love. Our room was comfortable, clean bathroom, good closet, tv, nice view from the balcony. Also they put a crib for the baby. The only detail I will add its they don't have any paper beside the phone to put some numbers if you need to call to the reception. I will stay one more time there. Thanks guys.

Primera vez en Ecija. Fuimos a un matrimonio, mi esposo es italiano y yo venezolana. Súper encantados con el hotel, a pesar que el hotel no está en el centro, tiene muchas cosas alrededor. Nuestra habitación fue muy cómoda, hasta colocaron una cuna para el bebe. Desayuno delicioso hecho con amor. Él staff son increíbles, muy gentiles y si requieres algo te lo resuelven. Lo único que no vi ninguna agenda o algo con información por si quieres llamar a recepción o hacer llamada. De resto impecable en todo. Agradecidos por estar allí. Saludos
